Any of you Geniuses get a chance to see that over shouting, cant understand a word they are saying, dark, no memorable tunes show for a 6th grade auditorium yet. Be honest, are you going back ? and more importantly, are you going to reccm it to anyone?. Dig this. Bernie (I love my Ice Cream ) Carvel says on National Television. " Its a Grown Up Show that you may want to bring your Kids to " Im a ticket Broker and this show is losing steam faster than any show I can remember. Tickets are ALL over every exchange, Great Ceasars Ghost !!!!
I'll admit it: I went back a second time, and I've recommended it happily to many of my friends, most of whom were already breathless with anticipation anyway. Most, if not all, of the people who I know who have seen it love it.
Dissenting opinions always exist, but few as expertly articulated as yours.

For a ticket broker, but everyone knows you're not, you are incredibly F*CKing stupid and have awful grammar.

Don't even get me started on ticket brokers. And it's clearly losing steam... It only sold out last week and made over $1 million. I give NO credibility to ticket brokers. I work in a box office, and I think 90% of the time they are scamming and ripping people off.
"Im a ticket Broker"
Reminds me of the old joke. I'm a ticket broker. I sell tickets and the people who deal with me end up a lot broker.
Seriously though, how refreshing would it be to have someone say I recognize others enjoyed it but I just didn't care for it personally. Instead, its always got to be the worst show ever played on a stage anywhere in the world in the history of mankind. Until the next show the person doesn't like and then that honor passes to that show like a treasured family heirloom.
It's Caesar by the way, not Ceasar. Perry White is turning over in his grave.

Ha I honestly taught the first comment was a joke! The uneducated writer of the comment has honestly the worse grammar and has no business writing such criticism of such a good show. Yes Matilda isn't the best show ever, but it has its good points and you have to give credit to that. Also after the Tony night performance it had over $21 Million in advance ticket sales. So I don't think its quickly losing steam.
^Not much room to talk in the grammar dept.
Don't feed the troll.
Ha! That pretty much sums it up.
I think the sound design is not good and it has some book problems late in Act 2, but I would recommend Matilda over Kinky Boots, for example, because Matilda has some genuinely brilliant lyrics and one of the best, artistically courageous songs on Broadway right now ("Quiet").
^^^^
Yes hyperbole!
I agree that Quiet is a masterfully haunting little piece of musical theater.
Didn't all the ticket brokers die in 1972 from the Great Leech Blight?
^ If only... There's something to be said about having a job hat is nothing more than buying tickets at face value only to resell them for more than they're worth.
And apparently it doesn't require English language skills either.
Looks like ChiChi's bored again.
I'm seeing the show tomorrow. I'll weigh in then.

I'll admit you were wrong. Kinky boots is a cute, fun, bland show that is a great way to pass 2 hours and nothing more. Matilda is a beautiful, thoughtful work of art and will always be considered the better piece of the two. "Everybody say yeah say yeah say yeah say yeah say yeah say yeah say yeah say yeah say yeah" pure genius.
Look at me! Stirring the pot and causing trouble! I'm such a mischievous imp!
In response to Stevie3, it's Bertie. Bertie Carvel (and no, it's not pronounced like the ice cream company). Anyway, I've now seen the show 3 times and I haven't become bored yet. I've heard that people have had a difficult time understanding some of the lyrics to the songs if they haven't listened to the Original Cast Recording and become at least a bit familiar with the lyrics beforehand. But in general, yes, I agree that the quality of Matilda is much better than Kinky Boots (which I saw once, enjoyed it, have the OCR, but I'm not running back to see it again in the near future).

I saw it, enjoyed it, and am going back again at the end of November with two people who are going on my recommendation. I understood the show fine, and thought it had some beautiful melodies, etc.
I didn't involve myself in the Kinky vs. Matilda wars. I just went and enjoyed both.

It is still one of the better shows I have seen. And clearly the OP was just trying to cause a stir. Job well done I suppose.
The OP is actually a Matilda troll, pretending to hate the show in order to rouse the Matilda fans.

I'm not a fan of the show but really? Just seems unnecessary(and a tad inaccurate) to gloat about the demise of a show that seems to be selling quite well.
