Broderick's trademark impish performance in BABBITT is in full swing in one of the most boring plays I have ever seen. Two hours at the theater has never been longer.

I'm glad you felt the need to start an entire thread to express that two sentence long thought

I saw the play and didn’t think it was boring at all. A unique way to tell a story from a very strong cast. Could have been a few minutes shorter but overall I enjoyed it.

The play is being done at Shakespeare Theatre in DC as part of their season . It was horrible because Matthew Broderick was giving the same performance he has given in all of his work the last 30 years. He is truly an amazing no talent - can't act, can't sing, can't dance.

What a let down after a truly fantastic "Comedy of Errors" with Alex Brightman. Simon Goodwin is probably the best director of Shakespeare working today.

I have an issue with people who say the same thing about Broderick but continue to go see his plays. If you don’t like him as a performer, why do you keep going to see him? I did not see a similar performance in this to other plays I’ve seen him in. just my opinion.

Fair question. I saw this only because I have a season subscription to Shakespeare theater ( that and seven other subscriptions to various theatres in the area). I never would have gone otherwise.
Since I had the ticket, I thought I would give it one more shot and go with an open mind. No such luck, he used the same dull voice, the same boring mannerisms, the same cliché schtick he does in every show.
