Max von Essen in West Side Story

I know that it is over a month away from opening, but I could not resist letting everyone know when I found out about it. I wanted to let everyone know that Max will be starring as Tony in Jerome Robbins' 'WEST SIDE STORY' in Houston from October 24th - November 5th. From the Theater Under The Stars website: "TUTS presents this show just as a Broadway revival is in the offing."

I am so excited that he will be traveling to Houston. I know that he will do a stellar job and I can not wait to see him reprise his role from the European Tour.

Ahh, I'm actually going to get to see this one. I'll be in the Houston area for my high school reunion, and my parents offered to take me along when they go that weekend.

Amen, Lizzie.

Although an even bigger problem than his performance was that the cross upon which he was crucified made this horrible RRReeeRRReeeeRRReee squeak as it traveled 50 yards offstage. I've never laughed so hard in my life.

i saw a sumer stock WSS this summer and Tony has his shirt off in the bedroom scene...he was no max, alas, or my summer would have been VERY different

Tony's shirt is off during that scene, in any production I've seen (including the film), and when I played it (a million years ago), my shirt was off, as well.
