May I introduce myself?

Hello!
My name is Liz and theatre is about 90% of my life. I'm in college and I was in my first play ever last semester. I will do ANYTHING to see/preform/ be involved with theatre. The first show I saw on Broadway was the revival of How to Succeed with Daniel Radcliffe, which was awesome. I've met Idina Menzel, she was unbelievably nice and gave me a hug! It was one of the best things that ever happened to me! I find it hard to criticize/dislike shows. I've lurked on this board for a long time and love reading what you all have to say, so i got a username. Nice to meet you!

Keep the spirit of theatre alive!
"I've got to get me out of here This place is full of dirty old men And the navigators and their mappy maps And moldy heads and pissing on sugar cubes While you stare at your books."

Liz, you'll do ANYTHING?

Reminds me of the old vaudeville joke:

Evil villain (EV): The whip!
Innocent heroine (IH) No, not the whip.
EV: The whip.
IH: Please, I beg you, not the whip.
EV: THE WHIP!
IH: No, ANYTHING but the whip.
EV: (leering) Anything?????
IH: The whip, the whip.

Hi. Get involve with community theatre. I'm in Atlanta Georgia. I was in a production once where we had like 4 people in the audience on some nights. But what is interesting about theatre, you meet people that really want you to succeed. After our show flopped, we got an offer from another more successful director to do the next show. Another thing about Community Theatre, you'll be surprised the people you meet on their way up (I met Kenny Leon once!)
And when you give your all to whatever production you're in, you feel like you're a part of the entire broadway community, and you may be in Atlanta Georgia, Griffin Ga...etc. and nowhere near New York. But, of course, you still love New York.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

I would LOVE to try community theatre but I haven't gotten around to it yet. It sounds and looks like so much fun! Also, that's definitely the flashiest welcome sign I've ever seen! Thanks so much!

Welcome, Liz! Our passion for theater is what brings us all here.

Be warned, everyone else's need to be right is what will end up getting you berated the moment you dare voice a dissenting opinion.

Brace yourself, Effie.

Seriously though, welcome to the board!
