Before I opened this I was assuming it was going to be a press statement from Mayor McCheese.

Huh?
And she has two names- one is VERY Common and one is VERY uncommon. If you want to call her by just one name, say "Audra."

I actually thought it was something about McDonald's but then I had a feeling it would be in regards to Audra's divorce.
Not the McDonald I was thinking off.
Is there a link to the article that she is "responding" to?

Why is she setting the record straight on BroadwayWorld.com?
Wouldn't it make more sense to do it on that newspaper's website and in print?
I second the request for the article she's responding to...
I third the request...
If true, then I'm sorry to hear that Audra and Peter have dissolved their marriage...
Voila!

I don't think that Audra should feel she HAD to release a press statement when she got separated/divorced but the report is "erroneous" only because she didn't do that.
Audra was actually quite smart in making a response statement, since the article basically says she is committing adultery when she is in fact divorced.
I would also like to add that Will Swenson is a very lucky man!

Yeah, making a response statement here is "smart".
She didn't make a response statement specifically to Broadway World. She released a statement to the press. BWW picked it up and released it.
Thanks for the link bwayfan3.
When I first heard of the Swenson/McDonald romance a few months ago, I was under the impression she was still married too. Interesting to know that she and her hus have been separated for such a long time (and now divorced).

I don't understand why the article about setting the record straight didn't mention what erroneous statements she was setting straight.
Can't say I'm surprised that she and her husband are no longer together, given her comments at the recent marriage equality event. (When acknowledging a longtime gay couple with whom she is friends, she said something like "they're the couple on whom I want to model a relationship someday"--not something a happily married woman would say) I'm most surprised that they were able to not only separate but legally divorce without anyone noticing.
Phyllis, I think she was setting the statement about her being "very married" straight. She was divorced when she and Will were spotted.

Still, if the article/reprint of a press release in reference to another column, should it at least reference what was said? Did EugLoven write this?
Yeah, It does seem odd that they don't address the original report.
The Daily News article says "Although 'Private Practice' star McDonald is still wed to musician Peter Donovan, several sources say that she and Swenson are very much in love."
Audra and Peter's statement says they were divorced in "early 2009."
Could the three Daily News reporters who write that column have done some fact-checking? When exactly is "early 2009"?
Couldn't their "several sources" have told them the divorce had actually occurred?
Or are their "several sources" really not insiders at all? Maybe their just message-board gossips, like us.
Papers like the Daily News are no interested in "facts." They would just get in the way of a good story.
On the same page is this headline:
"Neil Patrick Harris wants to get into Hugh Jackman's pants

Talk about making a story out of nothing.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
Neil's people just released this:
Although the thought of an evening in Jackman's slacks is not unpleasant,he is pleased with the pants he's in.

in addition to audra being divorced isn't Will Swenson married? If so they daily news screwed up double.
Reps for both McDonald and Swenson did not comment by deadline.
Um, so maybe don't publish it yet? Idiots.
The Daily News is lucky they only received a press release in response instead of a lawsuit. Orfeh should take note- this is what defamation of character looks like.
I don't know if his official status, but on some vid of him (a sort of "day in the life of" thing) he states he is a single dad.
So....If he was married, he is at the very least separated.
Additionally, one reason to NOT include the original item being rebuffed: we don't all thoroughly read things and all you want is the RIGHT info out...not a repeat of the wrong info.
