Is it true that Megan Hilty will be filling the shoes of Amber after Haylie Duff leaves? I am not sure if this is just an internet rumor, or the truth?

Most likely not, since she is going to be busy with Wicked on tour and I believe Haylie is over in October.

Alrighty thats what I thought, I personally would love to see her in the role.

Also, was Haylie Duff that known before Hairspray? I never really thought she was big in the buisness.

With Megan's previous role's I don't think she will switch over to the smallish role of Amber anytime soon.

She's been in a couple of movies, recorded a song with her sister.. I think that's about it. Basically, she's been known as Hilary Duff's older sister.

Usually it seems that the younger sibling follows the footsteps of their older sibling, but in the Duff situation, it's the other way around. Haylie probably wouldn't have been as well known if Hilary Duff weren't famous.

Yeah, although Glinda will remain a viable job option for her for years to come (as "Wicked" will surely continue to run for a very long time), it remains her only Broadway stint thus far. She's really not in any position to start turning down roles.

I would like to see Megan Hilty as Amber to. I am not sure if she is much of a dancer, but Amber does not really do that much dancing. I also dont think she would accept the role too, going from a leading role in Wicked to a supporting role in hairspray. I dunno though.

Another random person I would like too see as Amber is Angel Reda, gorgeous blonde from Chicago.

Angel Reda is actually very talented! Ive seen her as Mama on the tour of Chicago, and Annie in the broadway production. The Girl deffinetly has talent!

I don't think that is always true at all. If you are going to one of the most respected musical theatre schools (ie. Carnegie Mellon) in the country and you get cast as a lead it means you have talent. Talent is what gets the jobs.

I guess it would really be up to if she has time for the role and if you she wants it. I doubt she would go to Amber just because it is a lot smaller role. Then again she isn't in any position yet to turn down roles. Well, see!

Hailey isnt following her sister
she's been acting since before her sister has

her sister was just lucky enough to land the main role in a tv show that made her famouse

hailey just hasnt been as lucky as hilary but now its her turn to shine and I'd rather see halie then hilary
at least hailey is singing/acting/dancing (not very good)but live

hilary cant even do that

Distinctve- that's not entirely true. College is what landed her on Broadway in the first place. Someone from Wicked saw her in a showcase, called her in to audition for Wicked, and gave her the standby position.

I really need to see Hairspray... but... after Haylie Duff leaves. I'm not a fan.
