is mike faist still performing in Dear Evan Hansen? I hardly see him in posts and I see his understudys are going on a lot. I really want to see him when I go November 25th, he’s my idol so.
He's on his contract until mid-May. He doesn't use social media and he doesn't let the cast post about him due to professional reasons. Mike is very well and healthy, he just hosted a masterclass and is definitely in the show.

So pleasantly surprised to tune in and catch his guest appearance in the 10/25 episode of Law & Order SVU
"due to professional reasons"?? what does that mean

Apparently he doesn't want to ruin his character's persona and public view of him by stagedooring and interacting with fans. I don't know why but it's his choice I guess. He usually leaves dressed as an orchestra member I'm pretty sure.
If he does, that's new. I despise the stage door but my husband insisted the two times we saw it. Mike Faist was present both times and quite friendly.

Where are you hearing this information from? I've stagedoored 3 nights in a row and he came out every single time. If he doesn't want to interact with fans to "ruin his character's persona" - why is he very responsive to fanmail, is a vocal coach for anyone who's willing to pay, and hosting masterclasses? None of those things sound like a very "Connor" thing to do.
Mike mentioned in his NYT profile that he doesn't stagedoor because I guess a lot of people on the line expect to "see" Connor and that character. He's mentioned in the past too how heavy the material is and how fans sometimes he has said the fans view the actors as people to pass their mental health stories onto and I just think it got to be too much for him.
But he is very much still in the show and the days he's taken off I think were filming reasons and masterclass reasons.

He stopped stagedooring in may, and I went 4 times in June to the door and he never came outside. Twice before the Tony's and twice after. He's on one of my top actors to meet list too!

Sorry to break it to you, but I also saw the show in June and Mike came out 3 times. Here's photo proof of 1/3 nights with a pridebill & the date stamp at the top. You should just quit spreading false info if you don't know what you're talking about
Y'all...sometimes actors come out, sometimes they don't. It's not a conspiracy. Don't get too stressed about it.

^ THIS. It ain't that deep.
I can't quote because the photo is glitching, but @secretSchuyler sister: the exact interview says "Mike Faist: It’s interesting dealing with that aspect. I very rarely do the autograph line. I just try and keep my head down and show up to work and do my job, and then just go home at the end of the night and wake up and just do that again. I think because the nature of the show, people feel so strongly about it and they feel like they know us, in a way, and it’s really, really — it’s just a lot. And, that’s really amazing and I don’t want to take that away from them, by having them meet who I actually am, so I just kind of distance myself a little bit from all of that.
Is that why you’re not on social media?
Faist: Yeah, I have a Twitter, but I don’t use it, you know what I mean? I’m not on social media for other reasons on top of that, but yeah, it just kind of, I don’t want to — after the show, I feel like the curtain comes down and that’s it, and I just would hate for that illusion to be broken by having interaction with me, that, maybe, [fans] were expecting something else, almost in a way… I’d rather them go home and digest and think about it a little bit. And I do it, maybe twice a week I’ll go out and sign [on the autograph] line because there are [repeat] customers that come, so they’re very, very generous and I want to be sure to thank them for all their support."

Exactly. I had a conversation with one of the older actors from Hansen in April. He told me that the stage door thing was becoming a bit of a bear because of the size and intensity of the crowds. He said that the production team was concerned that both Faist and Platt were overdoing their accessibility to all the crowds. It doesn't surprise me that they both don't do the stage door after every single performance.
BTW when I did the stage door after the Sunday in the Park revival, Robert Sean Leonard told a bunch of us that he and Gyllenhall were alternating from performance to performance at the door.

Lots of management at Hansen have been saying that, on Instagram I remember a Post talking about how a guard told a fan (the one who sees the show like every two weeks) that people were starting to be inappropriate towards Mike. Also when I was at the door I witnessed people pushing to see Ben (I was in the front and I had to firmly grasp the ground not to fly into him from the pushing). It's good Mike and Ben don't stagedoor much because it's really dangerous for them. Also will Roland as well, but he doesn't ever come out (besides the performance I was at)
