I know very little about either show and what kind of reception they got. Anyone have any input on which show is supposed to be better or are they both about the same quality-wise? Thanks in advance for any details.

Posted: 10/25/12 at 12:06pmOkay - I saw both of them. They are honestly both the biggest pieces of absolute SH*T I have ever seen. I left in the middle Million Dollar Quartet because it was so unbelievably and unbearably boring. White Christmas had some great Irving Berlin songs, but other than that it was a total snoozefest completely devoid of any logical conflict. The tour also had some of the ugliest and worn sets I have seen in my life. See neither.

They'll both be playing at The Kennedy Center in DC in December.
I liked White Christmas when I saw the tour in Boston it's 2nd year (before it ever played on Broadway). It's funny because I liked it quite a bit then, but had the oppostie reaction when I saw it on Broadway. With the exception of the wonderful Act 2 tap number, I was bored to tears.

Just saw the "White Christmas" tour in Buffalo a couple of weeks ago on its first night.
Horrible. Except for one of the female leads everyone was average to subaverage. Mugging. Cloying. NO chemistry between leads. Horrible pacing, sound was terrible making the dialogue difficult to hear. Monotonous choreography. Wanted to tear my eyes out. Would have left at intermission but I was with a group of co-workers and, foolishly, had not driven myself.
Seemed to be a tour group of actors who will NEVER make it as leads on Broadway. Waste of an evening.

I don't know anyone that's seen WHITE CHRISTMAS, but based on the public feedback I would skip both and see if there is anything else playing that you might enjoy. I see an ad at the top of my screen saying Les Miserables is playing DC through the 30th, I'd go see that.

Watch the movie White Christmas on streaming or DVD (now on BluRay). Listen to the Million Dollar Quartet recordings (with the originals, Presley, Cash, et al) on MP3 or CD. Then take the money you saved by seeing neither and choose a better show.
