Which one is this one?

Manhattan Theatre Club production from the early 80's , written by the woman who wrote Crimes Of The Heart or something else?

It must be the Beth Henley play (that was filmed with Holly Hunter)--I can picture America in the role.. Then again, that play is called The Miss Firecracker *Contest* (the film is just Miss Firecracker...)

There is no truth to what you are reporting. I am not sure why you are reporting it, but your story is inaccurate. She will not be starring in the show, nor will it happen in December.

This has actually been in the works for a while. I don't know of the papers being signed or what have you, but I know that this actor has been in talks to be in this production for over a year.

She has been attached to it for a long time now. But isn't December very close for a show to open without having been announced yet?

She may be going into rehearsals in late December, with a 2013 opening.

She verbally said to a room full of people that her next project was "a play called the miss firecracker contest that I'm doing In december in the city"

I wonder if Judith Ivey is still attached to direct. Given her schedule performing in THE HEIRESS, I'd imagine it would be hard for her to pull double duty. (That is, if the December/January dates are accurate)
