Received my blu ray copy from Amazon.co.uk today ... almost a week earlier than the email confirmation indicated. It is indeed Region Free ... watched the entire show already and it played perfectly!!! Note: Disk 2 is "The Heat Is Back On ... The Re-making of Miss Saigon" is not a blu ray ... it's a Region 2 dvd so will not play in most US players unless you have an "All Region" machine. So anybody that is frustrated by the lack of a US release date you can safely go ahead and order it from Amazon.co.uk right now and be enjoying it probably months before they ever get around to releasing it here.
Discussed here.

Yes, I realize that this has been mentioned in another post but the subject of that post did not refer to the region coding of the dvd/blu ray ... just the fact that it was being released. The original post was getting farther and farther down in the list of topics and could easily be overlooked which is why I started this new posting with the subject line indicating the region status of the blu ray so, for those who were looking for confirmation of that fact, might have an easier time finding that bit of information.

Did you order it from Amazon.co.uk? If so, did you ever receive an email confirmation of your order and another when it was shipped? There is often times a link for tracking information once an order has been shipped. Also, you can look under "My Orders" on your Amazon account and see if it is listed there ... if not you may have to re-order it.

I pre ordered the blu ray on October 17th from amazon.co.uk. It was originally being delivered between Nov 1st and 4th.
It was finally shipped on October 30th, but I still haven't received anything yet. I contacted customer service and they said my item will be delivered on November 14th. No tracking information is available.
I didn't think it would take a month to receive something from the UK.

Well if it wasn't shipped until October 30th and is scheduled to arrive around November 14th that isn't a month ... it's only 2 weeks ... and that's not unusual for basic standard delivery from the UK ... I think part of the delay is because these shipments have to go through customs. It's worth the wait ... and it's 1000 times better than waiting around for them to announce a US release date.
Yes, the Blu-ray is region free, however, the accompanying DVD with some of the bonus features is not. At the end of the day, you're buying for the main program. It does not disappoint on this region-free Blu-ray.

It will be a month from the time I ordered it and the time I receive it.

Still, it seems everyone else received theirs in an adequate amount of time. I feel very lucky: I pre-ordered the DVD and received it two days after the release date. It's weird there is no tracking info.
Mine was supposed to have arrived on Friday, yet still hasn't. The page on the website still indicates its arrival would be Friday, even though Friday has come and gone. There is no specific tracking information, as it says that is unavailable for packages shipped standard intentional. If I don't receive it on Monday I'll be contacting customer service.

If it was shipped postal mail then it wouldn't have arrived Friday since there was no mail delivery due to Veteran's Day ... though mine came via UPS.

Does the new production have a raked stage like the original?
Was the West End revival the same staging as the mid-2000s UK tour? Looks that way in Youtube vids.

I contacted amazon.uk today and apparently my blu ray is lost in transit somewhere. They ordered me a new one and will have it here by Thursday.

Glad to hear! Sorry you had to wait so long. Now be sure to report back after you've had a chance to watch it and tell us if you thought it was worth your wait. ![]()

Quick question! Does it matter what shipping method you use? The standard delivery is much cheaper, but I was assuming I needed to choose one of the global options since it is being delivered to the US. Also, there looks to be a price discrepancy and I was wondering if that mattered. Both look to be the same Blu-Ray but one is priced at $15 and the other is at $29. Any difference with these? Thanks for the help!

The Miss Saigon: 25th Anniversary Performance Blu-ray is currently £9.99* on Amazon UK.
