After seeing Molly last night at the Tonys, I am concerned about her playing Charity. She looks desperately out of shape.
I've seen her several times on TV recently and it really bugs me. I'd rather have a real "no-name" theatre actress with professional training and a dancer's body than a C-list celeb who looks like a train wreck. I am not saying that all actors have to be in top shape or thin. However, your body is your instrument when you are an actor/dancer. At least look like you give a damn. You can't just let yourself go.
Charity is aerobically grueling so I hope Molly pulls it together. I don't want to pay 70 bucks for reworked choreography.
Applegate was a top notch hoofer in tremendous shape athletically who committed 120% to Charity-body, mind & spirit. I hope Molly steps up.
The problem with Molly was the fact that she seemed out of it, not that she gained 5 pounds.
No jab at Molly here, but it looked like a lot more than 5 pounds, is she expecting? Just asking.
Good point muscle-what what with her eyes? I was vacillating between eye lift or pain meds?
She looked like she was just released from an asylum.
Oh, Ms. Ringwald has always had the creepy eye thing going on.

My friend asked if she'd had a stroke. I said, "No but she might have had a bad botox job." She did look out of shape too, but she might not have looked as bad if she'd worn a dress that fit her.
Hopefully she can get in shape in time for the tour.
It'll be nice to have a red-headed Charity again.
If we're talking red-headed Charitys, I'd take any Broadway chorus girl with a dye job over Molly at this point. Heck, I'd even take Marilu Henner. At least she takes care of herself hardcore.
Marilu Henner as Charity? Please take that back right now!! I think I just had an anurizm.
Marilu looks younger than Molly even though she's twice her age. Somebody with computer skills please post side by side pics. LOL I'll never take it back. :)
Well.....I suppose you have a point. But who has less stage presence? I really dont know. It's a toss-up. I still the lesser of the evils is the wide-eyed Ms. Ringwald.
Gotta jump on the Molly-bashing bandwagon because I was completely horrified when I saw her at the Tonys. I definitely think that she got some seriously bad plastic surgery -- her eyes were really freaking me out.
But that does not explain the bizarre lip-curl action she had going on -- if any of you Tivo'd the Tonys, put her presentation in slo-mo and you'll see what I'm talking about. Scary.
Well truthfully, the actress that should be playing the role on tour..
is without a doubt, Paige Davis. Has A LOT of training in all 3 areas. Wonderful dancer. And a lovely red head.
The Weisslers ofcourse wanted a bigger name.
Well, that's what she gets for years putting her lipstick on with her breasts.
Ljay, you are soooo right. Paige would be ideal. I know Trading Spaces isn't so popular anymore, but I'd venture to guess that Paige is a more recent celeb than Molly and certainly more fine tuned as a triple threat. Paige would be the best Charity. Even if they tagged it as starring "Trading Spaces Paige Davis" they would get a draw. I think after seeing Molly last night many will stay away in droves.
I was surprised how she looked at the show. I wouldn't worry too much how her body is because when she starts dancing everyday she'll be getting a good work out. The one thing that was freaky was the way she was acting. And I don't remember her eyes like that in older films.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
My mom said she reminded her of the guy from x-men when he gets turned into a mutant.

They are changing the title to Suprised Charity.
In rewatching the clip, for a second I thought it could be Carol Burnett-presently. That is not good for Molly.
