This is too broad. You start with Al Jolsen in The Jazz Singer and then you move forward. Does she want movie musicals which were original for the screen or those that were adaptations of stage shows.
Does she want male or female?

You and your frind must be really stupid. You could have gone to netflix or amazon.com and looked at the "musicals" genre for dvds. Or you could have gone to imdb.com and did a keyword search for "musical". I typed this all within a minute, and you couldn't come up with it after "hours of research??"
