I dont think it's a wig. There might be a 'rat' in it though.
On the amanda picture- you can just barely see the "bleached" portion of tracy hair.

Again people, you are looking at a candid photo taken. You can't really judge costumes, wigs and such until you see them IN the film with lighting and hollywood "magic".

I just got done reading a blog by this guy who was going over the movie casting choices... and I found this part humorous:
"Who will be playing Tracy? Surely Marissa Jaret Winokur could play the role. She was in movies before she was on Broadway...NO! It was some nobody who won the role! It was now that I realized that someone on this movie was pulling strings and calling in favors."
Hahaha, ok.
I apologize if this if this is a BWW's blog- but I dont think it is.

Dear God, Mateo, you didn't understand my dramatic license. What I meant was I walked past the Salvation Army hostel which had a number of indigent street people standing/sitting out front. It was right next to the shooting location at Lord Lansdowne. (Toronto zones shcools and detox centers in the same area, apparently). Any one of those folks could be, sadly, mistaken for the "drunk on the barroom stool" or the flasher. It was just plain ironic.
Sorry for the confusion.

Posted: 9/6/06 at 10:47amPlaybills 9117 got the gist of my message. When I walked over to the set, there were several people sleeping on the pavement near the Sally Anne Mission (which is right next door to Lord Lansdowne's playground). I had to walk around them to get to the location. I just found it so ironic that a musical which has, in its opening number "there's the drunk on his barroom stool" would BEGIN filming at a location right next to real life exemplars of what Tracy was singing about.

I totally get it now.
It is pretty comical.

Posted: 9/6/06 at 12:16pmShe looks a lot like Ricki Lake in that shot. My biggest fear for this production is still Travolta himself. Can't wait to see pics of him.

Looking at Nikki Blonsky, I actually "got it" perhaps for the first time. It's a strange thing about the stage Tracies, they have all seemed more, I don't know, compacted and tight. They were all professional stage performers playing a role. This girl just looks sweet and natural. We've all known a girl like her. Hell, I've been shaped like her at times in my life. Again, I just think it's wonderful casting.
As for Travolta, if he is really INTO this role, he brings so many tools to the workbench. Don't underestimate him. When he's on his game, he has few equals in whatever he tries. It's no surprise that he's as famous now as he was 30 years ago. Even with the fallow days, he has the chops to bring a very interesting performance to the production. Let's hope he's taking this totally seriously, the way Harvey did. Harvey got huge laughs, but he worked for them and he owned every one he got.
I still fall off my chair watching Harvey do the hand jive with the chorus girls in "I Can Hear The Bells" That's an inspired moment.
I just hope Travolta earns a few of his own. (Although on reflection, he may make a rather cute woman - in a drag queen sort of way - which may be a detriment....)

Posted: 9/6/06 at 2:54pmDoes anyone remember when Travolta impersonated Barbra Streisand in the SNL COFFEE TALK skit? I thought he was funny in that.

Ahh! I can't wait.
About the height thing--didn't it say in the first few articles about her being cast that she is something like 4'11 or so? She's very short, if I remember correctly. Does the movie still come out in December 2007? I can't wait that long. Have they recorded it yet?
