What a fantastic cast.
What role is Murney playing? Mary's mother?
She seems a little young for that, but she also doesn't fit anything else.
not that i already wasn't gonna be all about this show, now i'm RUNNING for tickets!

Thank goodness I don't leave for the summer until May 14th. I will definitely be seeing one of the first few previews!
For those who don't go to the link (as I didn't originally) and want to know specific casting for some of the roles:
According to Playwrights Horizons, "In Saved, good girl Mary (Celia Keenan-Bolger) and her domineering best friend Hilary Faye (Mary Faber) are starting their senior year at the top of the social food chain at American Eagle Christian High School — that is, until Mary's boyfriend (Aaron Tveit) tells her he thinks he's gay. When Jesus appears in a vision, and Mary heeds his message 'to do everything she can to help him,' her good deeds are met with dire consequences, and Mary is forced to question everything she's ever believed. Through it all, she finds faith in unexpected places and learns what it truly means to be saved."

a friend of mine auditioned, so i read the script. and i thought it was pretty great! i remember i thought the lyrics were a little loose, but it felt fresh and fun.i think it could do very well.
Today is apparently the day to announce AMAZING casts. First the awesome line-up for Shrek, and now this...fantastic!
I was hoping Mary Faber would continue on with the show (she did the last workshop) - SO happy to see that she is!!
Cannot WAIT for this to start - one of my favorite movies turned into a show with some of my favorite performers!

Anyone know who is Julia playing?
I'm assuming she'll be playing Mary's mother (Mary-Louise Parker's role in the film).
According to the Broadway.com press release, Julia is playing Lillian, Mary's (CKB) mother.

I LOVE the movie Saved. SUCH great source material for a musical.
and this cast!! *SQUEE*
Aaroooon <3 good to know he's not waisting any time getting his amazing, cute butt back on the stage
but really the whole cast is made of win.
Aaron Tveit? I'm TOTALLY there!!
I wonder if they ever concidered having Mary-Louise Parker recreate her role from the film seeing as she's also a well known Broadway star. Then again I don't believe she's ever had a singing role and might be busy with Weeds.
Aw! I am soo seeing this!

Aaron better get naked! That's all I've gotta say!
Oh, and sing too!
This casting is so good it hurts! And Curtis Holbrook make me a very happy girl in whatever he does!
"If we don't live happily ever after at least we survive until the end of the week!" -Kermit the frog "I need the money... it costs a lot to look this cheap!" -Dolly P. "Oh please, Over at 'Gypsy' Patti LuPone hasn't even alienated her first daughter yet!" Mary Testa in "Xanadu" "...Like a drunk Chita Rivera!" Robin de Jesus in "In the Heights"
"B*tch, I don't know your life." -Xanadu After that if he still doesn't understand why you were uncomfortable and are now infuriated, kick him again but this time with Jazz Hands!!! -KillerTofuBroadway Legend Joined: 1/3/05

Aaron better get naked! That's all I've gotta say!
Oh, and sing too!
hehehe! I bet there's going to be some VERY hott Aaron scenes I know in the movie there's some really good oneswith his character
I guess they're probably gonna have to change how they do the scene where he tells her he's gay? 'Cause obviously they can't exactly go underwater haha. That does kinda make me sad, because I love that scene, but I'm sure they'll find something equally as awesome to do!
Roland??
awesome!

AMEN!
I really can't wait to see this. The material sounds great.
It seems a lot like the book, "Breaking Point" by Alex Flinn. Has anyone read it?
