Apparently it's not understood. What was with all that music in The Producers? I know it was based on the musical, but come on! And this Hairspray coming out? Wasn't that a movie in the 80's? Why are they remaking it? They should have at least kept the music from the show in!
It's just a message board. Let's not take it too seriously.
You wont have to wait too long for 'Wicked' -Universal own it and many names are being thrown around at the moment. In fact many names are demanding to be in it! Boy i wish i wasnt sworn to secrecy but if i told you id never be alloewed out of Oz!
I think Wicked would be amazing and I would pay good money to see that film, but it would only work if they had a HUGE budget, and when, cause they already sayin they will, make a Wicked movie, I think they should also re-make Wizard Of Oz with the same cast as Wicked Movie, I think that would be so cool!
"If you talk about my family I will punch you in the fanny so hard it'll end up on your face... oh, looks like someone beat me to it!" - Dawn French
Wicked(I definetely see it happening and I wouldn't be surprised if Anne Hathaway gets cast as Elphaba and Kristen Bell gets cast as Galinda. But I personally think it would make a great animated disney like movie)
Les Miserables(Above everything. I think they could be waiting for Hugh Jackman to age a little so he could play Jean Val Jean.)
Into the Woods would be neat as a showtime/HBO movie.
Spring Awakening(if done right and with either the OBC or talented unknowns that fit the age)
I would love to see an Aida movie as well, but if they're going to cast popstars, they need to cast ones with personality who can actually sing. I don't really follow the R&B world, has Heather Headley become enough of a bona fide star to do this?

I think Avenue Q would be amazing if it were done as if it were a Sesame Street movie which means no visible puppeteers. But the OBC should still do the voices!
i said this a while ago and it was pointed out that legalities would stop it from happening, but I think it would be really cool if Wicked was done to visually mimic the 1939 Wizard of Oz in respect to the sets, costumes, even film stock if possible. Like, if it looked as though you were watching 'The Wizard of Oz', they could even intergrate footage from the original film in there to really play up the "looking at it a different way" aspect.
Canadians are not afraid of the dark! Ok...we don't love it, but who does?
"Follies" seems like it would translate on screen so well, but who would see it besides us?
I would love to see a version of "Grey Gardens" the musical on film. I think it could be very, very interesting. I love the idea of the first scene of the movie and watching the house transform.
Although, I'd much rather just have a filmed version of the show.
i'd also like to see Beauty and the Beast done in live action, i think it would be cool espically since in the musical they talk about how overtime the servents become more object-like. So at the beginning they could all look more like people, maybe even be people sized and progressively throughout the movie they look less like people and more like objects. Like they go from their broadway look to their animated counterparts. It would have potential to be visually beautiful all around.
It would also be amazing if they made 'The Lion King' with real animals, and no cgi.
ok, i was joking about the lion king, but I'd like a beauty and the beast movie.

That is the biggest load of crap. Universal is not planning on doing anything with the WICKED movie for a while, though there will be one evenutally.

That would be awesome, they'd have to get copyright(which the movie is now owned by WB), but it would make for an interesting adaptation and would be stunning.(I hope when or if they ever make it a movie, they'd get PJ Hogan to direct. Why? well it's not just that he could do fantasy and fabulous musical numbers, but that he is the true director who could capture every essence of Elphaba the best way possible, just watch Muriel's Wedding if you need an explaination to why he could)
