Just remember, this is the first time any of these kids have performed in front of a nation wide audience. So you have to give them a little credit. I think they've all done very well in their own way (honestly, these are all just our personal opinions - what does any of us really know?). They're still all students learning and gaining experiences. They aren't professionals yet, and I'm sure there's something nice to say about each and every one of them. (wow, that was so 'papa, don't preach'. But I meant it)

I'm hoping to catch tomorrow's show. But I've got a test in the morning, at about nine. No way could I go from my house to school and still make the test in time.

BWLvr, I'm not trying to be on my high horse. I was one of the first people to say that you can tell that she had a lot of talent from her audition tape it didn't transfer into her performance. Right now I'm working extremely hard right now to get my MT degree from one of these universities that is on there and I'll tell you this at a university level you are expected to learn your stuff; a 64 bar performance is not a lot to ask...nor is it really all that much for a nation to go by in a competition but whatever...

Each of the ten students are very talented and I think there's a hot race between the men. They were all amazing...The girls...I'm rootin' for Kate, she was sooo good; sexy and a brilliant belt.

Like erinrebecca said each student worked individually with Bernie Telsey's associates and I know that the people working with "The Wedding Singer" songs worked with the writers of the music; regardless of the performances etc the experience that each person got to have was really exciting and for some could be a first stepping stone to a career in the long run. I'm excited to see tomorrow's performers...and the final results next week. And in a week this whole thing won't matter; we'll get over people's opinions of who was good, bad, entertaining or a bore. I'm out for the night though, my fingers are tired and I need a drink after a long day at work.

Cheers,

Christopher

Some guy: You looked great!

Apparently some people here really don't have a clue what theatre is. Let me give you a little hint, if I went to an audition and forgot my words in the room I WOULD NOT BE CAST. They do not care if you knew it five minutes ago or if you can sing this song. What matters is what you are doing here and now. She forgot the lyrics and now she will pay for it. When you are on stage you can stop and try again you must be at your best at all times. I feel bad for her and it sucks, but lets get real there is no way in hell she should win. And please don't tell me anything about my high horse because I know how it feels to be in her shoes. I have forgotten lyrics before and guess what, it was my fault and I paid for it!

Peace!

RACERX, I totally agree with everything you said about Kate, she was definitely the best girl so far. And she will, without a doubt, have my vote. As for the guys, I would have to say that Kyle has definitely been the best. He has a great voice and a wonderful presence. He really did a terrific job (with mediocre material, at that). I wish them both luck!

Btw, RACERX, had any good encore-boner-swordfights recently????

It's so strange to hear you guys talking about these people...because out of the 10...I know 3..personally!

So strange!

But just to add to what everyone's saying...I think it's different going into an audition knowing your stuff and just having fun and autioning (i.e. the intial audition taped segments) compared to being in a competition at 8:30am and knowing that thousands of people are watching you throughout the nation!

Just something to keep in mind.

They all get kudos for doing this! It's a big deal and they should be congratulated!

Right now, I'm gonna have to agree with littlechap2. I'm thinking the girl, Kate I guess is her name (was she Velma?) Anyways, the girl who sang Chicago was definitely the best. But every other girl did an amazing job as well.

As for the guys, it's a tough race. But I'm putting the edge on The Wedding Singer guy. Even though the guy from today was really good as well.

By the way, I went to the site listed above. And apparently you can already vote? What's up with that? The people from Friday haven't even gone yet? Interesting..... Updated On: 6/2/06 at 01:22 AM

Who watched? Who voted?

I did not like the girl today. She made "Fine Fine Line" into an Opera (in my opinion)
I found it weird that when Barrett and Mary were talking, they weren't moving the puppets mouths.

The boy was pretty good and I thought it was clever that they started the song after the curse word so it didn't have to be bleeped out.

I voted for Cortney and Sean, though Kyle was a close second. Sean being from my alma mater gave him the edge over Kyle being so cute.

re: 'My Broadway Debut' on CBS

Jensen, having been on the other side of the audition table, I disagree with your blanket statement. If someone with an amazing voice or presence, or with a specific quality for which the production team was looking, forgot the lyrics, a certain amount of grace might be offered. Someone casting a show is not going to shoot him/herself in the foot because of someone else's nerves.

I am definitely voting for the guy who sang from Chicago on Tuesday (i think his name is Sean?). It seems that a lot of posts have hinted that Kyle was the stand out male, but I disagree. Kyle was wonderful, and Andrew had a good voice, but the guy who sang "all i care about" was awesome. He definitely had the voice and the personality, and you could tell from his audition tape he could really sing, even though the song from Chicago didnt get to show his range. He was one of the few contestants that I actually wanted to see more of, and even better his performance didnt make him look like a college student .

As far as the girls are concerned, it's a toss up between Kate and Katherine. It wasn't the best All that Jazz I have heard, but her voice was one of the strongest. Also, Katherine's audition tape was great and from it she looked better than a lot of the other girls. I wish that she had a stronger audition, but I am almost interested to see what would happen if she won, I somehow have a feeling she would bring down the house. I thik that a lot of the performances lacked energy and excitement, which is why I loved the guy from Chicago.

Sean from Northwestern was AMAZING and I'm definitely voting for him. And in spite of it all, Katherine, who's also from Northwestern is totally getting my vote. She looked and sounded amazing and even tho she flubbed a bit, you could tell she was a star. YAY SEAN AND KATHERINE.

As for today's performances...Junior's got a lot of talent but I didn't personally care for his tone; felt that Purpose could've been a lot more exciting. Brianna has one helluva voice but I thought that her acting values in the song defeated what the song really says. It seemed too much attitude for me because "A Fine, Fine Line" is truly heartbreaking. Anyone who has seen it can testify to that (esp. if you saw Stephanie do it!) But she can definately sing ("My Daddy's Son" ; WOW!!)

My votes go to Kate and Kyle. I felt Kate was the standout female of the week and I felt that Kyle and Sean were the two best males this week; each one has a different quality that makes them so talented and I hope all ten of these kids will get to have great careers. re: 'My Broadway Debut' on CBS
