My Fair Lady seating

Hoping to see this at LCT.

Any thoughts on how good/bad the mezzanine seats are view wise?  And how far left or right or the middle section are still top notch?

We always sit in the front row A loge 300 section...we find them to be perfect + extra legroom at the Beaumont!

The seating all over the theater is pretty exquisite. It's seems to be only the seats at the furthest ends (closest to the stage) have any real sight line issues. (Extreme 100 and 500 sections, particularly the orch.)

I would love your assistance. I’m finally in the position to buy my ticket for MFL in June. Which of these seats would you recommend?

I believe I sat in a similar TKTS seat to H512 for The King and I, but we were able to move to empty Center Orchestra seats at intermission. I prefer aisle seats due to my long legs and bad knees. I had an aisle seat for TK&I and was lucky to get also an aisle seat at intermission. So I don’t recall too much what the seat legroom was like. I’ve heard that legroom at this theater is bad for tall folks even in Orchestra. That is not usually the case for me in Orchestra seats  (I had plenty of legroom in my mid-row Center Orchestra Seat at the Schubert). As I recall, the far right Orchestra Seat at TK&I was partial view, but wasn’t too bad. We saw TK&I in November 2015 after the Tony wins so demand had died down a bit. I’m aware that won’t be the case in June even if MFL doesn’t win any Tony awards. So whatever seat I buy will be it. I won’t be moving to a better empty seat at intermission. 

So my considerations are view and legroom. I’d hate to spend over an extra $100 for a non-aisle seat if it gives me a better view but my knees are in pain the whole time. Similarly, I’d hate to save the money and have plenty of legroom only to miss crucial elements on stage. Any advice is appreciated.

As long as someone has started a thread - has anyone sat in the first few rows of the Orch in the 100s in the middle of the row (closer to center than extreme sides) and what did you think? My only other options are further back in mezz on the sides, or premium. Don’t really want to spring for premium unless people think it makes a big difference. Thanks!

ORCH G 405 is a superb seat but costly! Never sat in the 100 or 500 section as we always sit front row A Loge 300 section at the Beaumont!

Miles, the Beaumont is one of my favorite theaters in terms of seating views (I don't think there's a bad seat in the house), but if your concern is legroom, then you should try to find an aisle seat. The seats do curve in the back, which means if you're usually cramped for space, you'll have to spread your knees to make room. The view will be great regardless, but your knees will be in pain here unless you're on the aisle.

Thanks. That’s very helpful. I may try to call and see if they can help me find me a aisle seat that’s not far right or far left for my preferred performance.

Thanks for everyone’s help. I bit the bullet and called Telecharge. Ended up buying a premium ticket aisle seat (all the regularly priced aisle Orchestra seats were on extreme sides) my wallet may be lighter, but I should have a very good view - Center Orchestra 10 rows from the stage - but also won’t have to worry about constant knee pain. Plus I have a confirmed seat. That’s a big relief. C’mon June 22nd!

I welcome thoughts on my purchased seat.

I’m hoping I can wait to buy tickets for all my other shows (Skintight, Angels in America,  Three Tall Women, Carousel, The Boys in the Band, Once on This Island, Spongebob) until I arrive in NYC, either through TKTS or box office. If others have thoughts regarding if I should pre-purchase for any of  those shows, I’d appreciate the feedback. Thanks all!

I should have read the boards before I bought mine but for $35, I can't really complain. Are the extreme sides really that horrible?

$35 is a true bargain! I paid 10x that! When I sat in similar seats to yours for The King and I, it was kinda cool to see the ship proceed across the stage from that vantage point.

I sat in ORCH F307 for Oslo and in ORCH H307 for Junk. I'll be in ORCH G405 for My Fair Lady in about two weeks.  I like the 300 section the best.  It was all sold out for my date when I purchased my May ticket to My Fair Lady.

I agree that there isn't a lot of legroom, and getting an aisle seat would be ideal for long legs and knee issues, so you made a great choice.  I love the theater because of the great views from almost anywhere.  I sat in ORCH L513 for The King and I (TKTS seat), and missed some action on the right and toward the back of the stage, but the price was right so I can't complain too much.

Your aisle seat sounds great!

I was at C 105 and it was perfect. It was right on the edge of partial view for some small scenes.

I can definitely live with that to avoid premium.   I’m 104/105 in E so I think I will happily stick with that especially after buying 2 Harry Potter tickets that cost more than what my car is worth!

Do you feel you lost anything else in the production from that seat? I'm similar (Row D, 508) and I'm no stranger to partial view but perhaps it won't be that bad.

And yes, I'll sure miss LincTix when I won't be able to use that service anymore..

I was in row C in the same sort of seat. I forget exact number. The worst view problem I had was with the set that was Higgins' study. There was a couch in the way, making it difficult to see entrances into the room. But, it didn't last too long. Row C is 2nd row though and below stage level, so maybe sitting higher will be better. I know row F was so much better at The King and I.

Nobody has been asking about the view from upstairs, but I figured I would share my pic from center loge E 308. Other than needing to use my binoculars now and then in order to see facial expressions, I thought it was a spectacular spot for taking in the whole production, and I'm assuming the even the loge seats on the far sides would offer good views.

My seat last night Orchestra F seat 109 provided an almost perfect view in my opinion. I found Lauren especially often looked directly at me. The view of the stage was nice too, no obstruction. Great views of the revolving sets as they turned!

Comfort on the other hand wasn’t the greatest. I think going for that aisle seat was a smart move, the show is almost 3 hours long! I’m fairly short, about 5 foot 4 inches and after close to 90 minutes in the first half my knees had enough. Luckily, the show was sold out, except for the 3 seats towards the centre in my row F, so I was able to move down at intermission and ‘woman-spread’ to my hearts content.

i will provide pics from the view from my seat and of the legroom in a couple of days when I get home. They are on my real camera. I’m old school.
