I haven't seen the show yet and thought this recording would be a nice hold over until I finally see it, but it's so good that the recording is it's own entity to me, like I don't need the show and the people live onstage in my mind to back it up when I listen to it.
did that make any sense to anyone?
also I love wondering about what's happening in the book of the show,
Is Moritz gay and doesn't fully know it? ("Not that I wouldn't", "Can't help but itch, to touch, to kiss,
To hold him once again", His friendship w/ Melchior)
Why is Isle an outcast?
Why does she sing The Dark I Know Well w/ Martha, is she being molested too?
Does Wendla sing Whispering before or after the "event"?
How and why does Mel find out he'll never see Wendla again?
I get so giddy when I think about those things, I can't wait to see the show, but for now, the cast recording is gold.
You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott
