Last night my grandma gave me 4 playbills from shows she's seen on Broadway!! She gave me Crazy For You (from '94, I think), Annie (I believe it's from '81), The Secret Garden ('94, pretty sure), and Miss Saigon ('82, I think).

Just thought I'd share this =)
I was pretty excited!

EDIT: Miss Saigon was from 1994, and Secret Garden was from 1992. (I was at school the first time I wrote this, and I didn't have them in front of me.)

LOL, my thoughts exactly jjoey. I was in high school in 1994. 1994 anything is not "vintage." When I read the thread title I thought the OP had gotten Playbills from the '20s or something.

No no, I didn't mean to rip you apart or anything. I think that's awesome that you have those, but when i read "Grandma" and "VINTAGE" in the same sentence, I thought...Pal Joey.

Actually, a Miss Saigon Playbill from 1982 would be close to a decade too early....

Oy! Those are considered 'vintage'? Ouch! I guess my seeing ANNIE in 1977 is prehistoric!

To me vintage is pre-1950!

Yeah...I think something needs to be over 30 years old to be considered vintage. Ten years old is just "used."

My aunt gave me issues of Theatre Arts magazines from the 50s and early 60s.

My issue with Barbara Cook on the cover is one of my most prized posessions.

Now those are vintage, even if not pre-1950. Any Theatre Arts magazine is a find.

I have Playbills from the 1960s and 70s. It's fun to look through them and see where restaurants were located and what has changed about New York City. One of the playbills has the O.J. Simpson Hertz rental car ad. Another one has a gossip column that talks about Prince Charles being an eligible bachelor and that whoever got to marry him would be very lucky.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I have a vintage Lestat playbill. It has Jack Noseworthy in it.

Yeah the Saigon playbill cannot be from '82, It was not out then. It didn't even preview in London until 8/1/1989

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

God, if '94 is vintage, then I'm a relic.

goodness gracious '90's are vintage? that makes us all sound old.

Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.

Including me! And I'm 16 as well...

Age is creeping in on me already!

:)

PS: I do like that you've got a Miss Saigon one though! I'm a bit jealous...

^ It doesn't get any better. I have to say, 20 was the worst birthday for me so far.

Not intending to rag on you, at all. I just got a giggle out of your use of vintage. (English major here)

oh yeah? well is your grandma Kristin Chenoweth? because mine is. Well, my fake grandma OBVIOUSLY because she is a saintly virgin like mary!!!!!!!!! BECAUSE I asked her if she would adopt me and she said no and I said why not CHENO (her nickname, no one really knows it except for me because its a big secret)? and she said because you need to stop seeing my shows and maybe get a hobby such as carving heiroglyphics into wood or studying your bible and I said but KRISTIN CHENOWETH YOU ARE WHAT LIGHTS ME UP and she said 'fine ill be your grandma!!!!' but she's like, you know, that kind of grandma you can't be like 50 feet within. I think its because she has a disease but one jealous cow was all 'uhhh its called a RESTRAINING ORDER' and im like you beastly jealous freak you just wish you had that kind of relationship with someone as famous as kristin chenoweth.

Is that better?

I'm 16...leave me alone!! I guess I'm really old. But in '94, I was ****ing 4 years old. So...yeah.
