It's not on the DVD out now--Frank Oz had the older DVDs (with the footage) pulled. The footage is not finished? You might be able to score a copy on ebay--but at a high price.
The original ending exists on the premier release of the DVD in 1998 which was quickly yanked out of circulation by David Geffen. Thus, this initial release is much sought after and fetches a pretty penny on eBay.
Does anyone here have a copy of the DVD? Please PM me if so.

Yes, it was Geffen who pulled the DVD, not Frank Oz. (My understand is that Oz had provided the footage, which is from a black and white work print that never had all of its effects completed. Geffen apparently has a much better color copy of this footage, but still would not allow it to be released when the DVD came out again).
And yes, I have the first DVD, and the sequence, which I believe runs 26 minutes, is pretty damned wonderful, grainy film quality and all.
Well, due to the current launching on Broadway, they might end up releasing that on DVD as a way to cash in on the success of the Broadway show. A fella, can only hope.

Being me, I purchased the Little Shop DVD the day it originally came out, which happened to be one day before they pulled them all. All the extra footage of the original ending is amazing. (Stupid test audiences) They now sell on eBay for $100-$150.
