Wow! Guess I'll rush right out for tickets.

Out of curiosity....how full was the house?

"Out of curiosity....how full was the house?"

Before or after all the walkouts at intermission?

The Roundabout. Where plays and musicals go to die.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Ha ha ha...maybe I should ask how full the house was before AND AFTER intermission....for those who stayed for the whole show.

Well, here's Word of Mouth.

Two words: "Prolonged PMS."

(Maggie didn't really recommend it, Steven appreciated the idea, and Fred loves Mary-Louise Parker in anything, although he wouldn't tell his friends to rush out for tickets.)

(that last clip made me cry inside.)

Just got back. I thought it was one of the most atrocious pieces of crap I have ever seen, regional and college theatre included. There was no artistic merit whatsoever. I can't even post a full review because I am overwhelmed by the badness.

Parker responds to the critics.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Parker responds to the critics.

AWKWARD.

Basically, it can be summed up like this: "If four people hate it, and two people like it, that doesn't mean it's bad. Sometimes really scathing reviews make me interested, because they don't know more about the theater than I do, and they don't know more about acting than I do."

Well, she talk about her acting choices. Maybe the director found it too intimidating to guide her through these choices and make them work.

She's right for the most part. I think. Besides the comment about critics knowing less about theatre or acting than her. It's not her place to say. However, I agree with her about saying it's not that she made the "wrong" choice. It's that she made a choice not stereotypical. She made her own Hedda. There's nothing wrong with that. It's what acting is about. If 4 people thought it was bad and 2 people liked it, it doesn't mean it's bad. It means it's not what everyone likes. I truly did enjoy this production. Especially her performance.
