NBC has cancelled two more: Whitney and 1600 Penn. Still no word on the fate of SMASH. Luckily Josh Gad got rid of that hunk of junk.

Posted: 5/9/13 at 6:32pmI just don't get this whole not canceling thing. NBC has never been afraid to cancel a show, why now?

I think the outsized interest here compared to the rest of the world is why people think they are dragging their feet. Up All Night has been dead in the water for months and they only announced its official cancellation today.
That said, I can't wait for season three!

I don't think anybody would be surprised if they did not have both shows doing very well. If I was going to guess from those pictures, I would say "Bombshell" wins "Best Musical" and or score. McPhee wins for "Best Actess" and Hilty wins for "Best Supporting Actress".

None of that is apparent from the pictures. The only one that truly hints at anything is the one where Julia and Tom are looking at each other. The others can be have so many different interpretations. The one with the Hit List cast on stage is clearly a performance. That only means that were nominated (which we already knew). It doesn't suggest a win.

"What does that mean for SMASH?!!?"
TV by the Numbers till believes that the show is cancelled.

But NBC will announce its schedule on May 13. We'll see by then if the E! Onilne contest was enough to save it along with that Facebook page.

Posted: 5/9/13 at 9:25pmI think NBC might make SMASH a 30 minute show for season 3 focussing on Alec Baldwin producing a Shakespeare play on Broadway.
