According to an article on Variety... which makes me sad because I was hoping to see it one more time in the fall...

I hope, hope, hope that if this true (and really, I do usually believe Variety), I hope the cast and crew have heard this and it won't be a repeat of the Mary Poppins closing.

Does this open the door for Disney to bring in Hunchback next Spring?

Well, I do remember reading that the set was built to be tour-able, so I guess now it can be used for the tour.

HUNCHBACK... is playing at Paper Mill through April 5th, which makes it near impossible for the show to come in this season.

As of right now, you can still buy tickets past August 24th.

Since Hunchback is not slated for another 1-2 years, I do wonder what's going to take over since this is very sudden.

I'm sad to see the close. It was the second musical I saw in my trip to NYC last year. It was an entertaining show, but I will be seeing the tour soon.

I'm not shocked, given their grosses, but I wasn't expecting it to close before the end of the year.

Not surprising. It's recouped and had a good run. I don't think anyone involved, including Disney, can be disappointed.

I just tired to buy tickets to the final show and it says "NO TICKETS RIGHT NOW". I am very very sad.

I tried to as well... it looks like Disney pulled all the tickets (though as someone else mentioned, they are still on sale for shows after Aug. 24!)

You can buy tickets up until December 14th. Wow, someone needs to tell Ticketmaster the show is closing.

I noticed that there were plenty left too and was able to use the discount code.
