The lists are in!

It's funny Brantley went more "hardcore" drama, while Isherwood gave you the typical musicals, etc. I think I'm more interested in Brantley's list. I don't trust Isherwood's opinion. I thought "Red Speedo" was all kinds of boring and uninteresting. And would not put it on a list with something like "Sweat."
Very interested what Brantley thought of FALSETTOS...
Isn't it time for them both to shove off already? Brantley's been there for 23 years, 2 years longer than Rich's tenure. Kerr was only there for 17; Atkinson for a total of 31 years between 1922-1960 (with a 7 year hiatus in the middle).
Brantley never was much a writer, let alone any kind of interesting analyst. He seems to be burned out now. And Isherwood is, of course, just nuts.
Weird that the only show on both lists is The Crucible, which I (along with most everyone I spoke to about it) found to be really uninteresting.
Happy that Isherwood made room for the wonderful Red Speedo. Lucas Hnath is such a talented writer.
This production of THE CRUCIBLE was astounding.
Red Speedo and The Crucible were two of my favorites of the year so it's nice to see them mentioned.
The Crucible, Oslo, and The Gabriels were amazing. Hold on to Me, darling was also wonderful.
Other thank Great Comet and The Crucible, Isherwood's list is kind of meh
"Isn't it time for them both to shove off already? Brantley's been there for 23 years,"
Didn't the NY Times hire the women critic from the NY Post, her name is escaping me at the moment. Maybe she will take over in a few years.
Elisabeth Vincentelli would be even worse. She has bizarre taste and no critical faculties. If either Brantley or Isherwood were to be replaced, I would love to see Jesse Green at the Times.
