Yea, I LOVED Wedding Singer. I didnt c it on Broadway but when they performed @ the Tony's I bought the soundtrack. Is it me or did it close 2 soon???
1.) It is called a CAST RECORDING, not a soundtrack.
2.) How can you love a show you didn't even see?
3.) It had the kind of run it deserved. I saw it the week after it opened and although I actually liked it very much and had fun with it, it had a good run for what it was. It ran longer than I expected.

Hey, I LOVE Caroline, or Change and FOLLIES. It is VERY easy to fall unreasonably in love with a show you never have seen.

I just felt like giving the person a hard time.
I know you can love a show you haven't even seen. (I have a million of them)
The orginal poster of that just got on my nerves...

Yea, I meant cast recording. Sorry about that. And when I saw them perform on the Tony's, I loved it and that's how I loved it without seeing it.
Also, I agree with u on the Phantom.

A local theater of mine did "Big". My friend bought the cd and I heard some of the songs. It stunk. I have not seen the show, so I can't say it was the worst musical I have heard of. The plotline might have helped out the show itself. So I am saying it was some of the worst songs I have ever heard.

What WickedGeek, would you prefer "Beautiful Boy?"
"My beautiful, beautiful boooooooooy"
Just take those 10 seconds and copy it about 20 times to get the full effect of how the song stretched out to become one of the worst lyrical displays in the past 5 years.
I seriously hope you're not referring to John Lennon's Beautiful Boy.

Actually, he's referring to Carolee Carmello's first number in the musical, Lestat. The lyrics are pretty terrible.

these shows were so bad that nobody remembers them and only a few of us that saw them are still breathing:
Kelly - Broadhurst Theatre (1964)
Baker Street - Broadway Theatre (1965)

Fields of Ambrosia-
terrible idea. terrible music. terrible performances.
La Cava-
excessively complicated plot. mostly bad unorganised music.
Randy Newman's Faust-
Cool Randy Newman melodies. few cool Randy Newman lyrics. nothin else whatsoever.

Oh yeah someones post just reminded me
I went to see Big when i was in New York and was shocked at how Awful it was (what a bloody mess) , the show was just a snooze fest (how they manged to make this hyper active film so dull is beyond me) i think i remember 1 good song.
I was lucky enough to see Carrie in stratford before it went out to NY and i LOVED it, it was camp as christmas but so much fun and had a great score(well most of it).The sets were impressive but did not work for that show and Linzi Hately was amazing, still the most fun ive had at the theatre.

In My Life was, hands down, the absolute WORST show I've ever seen in a broadway theater. I've seen some stinkers over the 20 or so years but, WOW!!!! This show was by far the worst.

lots of old candidates are possible, but fresh on my mind is CURTAINS.
worst thing i've seen in the last couple of seasons. Shame - there is some talent in that cast.

I loved Big on Broadway. Solid score, funny show, imaginitive sets, excellent performances, and very entertaining. I actually liked it better than the film, mostly due to its shift in focus, which made much more sense.
The tour, however, was hideous and one of the worst shows I have ever seen. Everything they altered from the Broadway production was awful at best, and incomprehensible at worst.

Yeah it makes me want to tear my hair out. I dislike every song in the show except "Get Me To The Church on Time" and "Wouldn't It Be Loverly" and "ON the Street That You Live." I find myself listening to the Henry Higgins songs screaming in my head "Sing! Dont Talk! Sing!.
