Have you seen the show?
There are some shows you can just listen to the cast recording and enjoy, and then there are the shows you need to see to really get the full gist of it. My Fair Lady definitely qualifies under that.
I'm really not a fan of Joseph...Dreamcoat. In general, I don't like Jekyll and Hyde as a whole, but I really enjoy many of the melodies (don't get me started on the lyrics... Dr Jekyll, you're a devil...)
the worst musical i saw was starlight express it was just awful
To take it back to Big, I loved the disc and was very excited to see the show. The sad reality -- I wanted to leave at intermission. A shame, really. I still listen to the music, but the execution was lacking.
WORST. SHOW. EVER. = A tour of Meet Me in St. Louis that came through Richmond, VA many a moon ago. All I could think of was the appeal of a warm bath and razor blade. (Kind of felt that way watching the tour of Lion King too, come to think of it.) HOT. BORING. MESS.
That said, to this day, I maintain that I was entertained by Nick and Nora and Legs Diamond. I know I am in the minority, but I kind of liked them. Not in the way I completely lurve Grey Gardens, Company, or the like, but still enjoyed those evenings for what they were!
There is a musical called "The Worst" actually. It's about Ed Wood.
