I think it's interesting how sometimes people who live in more remote areas have seen more shows on tour than people that live in New York City.

Question...why do so many of you only go backa nd see the same show over and over, missing some equally wonderful other shows?

One person lists PHANTOM OF THE OPERA 8 times out of 25 shows. Someone else saw it 15 times But has only seen 9 different shows. Someone else has only seen 7 performances on Broadway: 3 of them were WICKED and 3 were GYPSY.

If you live in NYC and go to shows every week I can certainly understand revisiting a favourite, but if you travel to get to New York and only see a limited number of performances each time, does it not make sense to try an see as many different shows as you can?

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

If you live in NYC and go to shows every week I can certainly understand revisiting a favourite, but if you travel to get to New York and only see a limited number of performances each time, does it not make sense to try an see as many different shows as you can?

I completely agree with that statement. If I lived outside the NYC area, I would most definetly try to see different shows and even double up during Matinee days ect...
