Well, that is an automated email scheduled in advance from the time you bought your tickets. There is often far less notice for someone calling out.

Sure. They are treated as individual shows by the cast.

I was there last night and got into it with the box office.
At first, they told me I had no options to exchange my ticket. When I continued to press and point out that Lane was above the title, they finally lamented and gave me a sheet of paper with instructions on how to past date.

This shouldn't be allowed, it shows a complete lack of respect for the art of theatre and the actors who have given their lives to the craft.

I have tickets for today’s show. How can I find out in advance if he will be in today’s show?
There are 2 separate performances today: Saturday May 26, 2018. Part 1 at 1pm and Part 2 at 7pm. As mentioned above, each performance is treated separately.
You should call the Neil Simon Theatre directly prior to each performance to check on Nathan Lane as he could miss the 1pm matinee but perform the 7pm performance or vice versa, etc.

Yeah, no. I paid money to see Nathan Lane. If Nathan Lane isn't performing, I want my money back.
It has nothing to do with anyone else.

I must have caught them on a good day. When I had my trip cancelled a week or so ago, my Angels In America tickets were refunded by Ticketmaster, after box office approval. Granted, my 4 shows with Telecharge were refunded quicker. I am grateful to all of the box office staff at my six shows who approved my full refund. If not, I would have had a big loss.

We stopped by to get my husband’s lottery ticket and the clerk said “we haven’t heard for sure, but I think he will be back.”

I was talking to someone by the stage door and Nathan Lane walked by and entered. I say he is in.
