Anyone know if there will be a new cast album from the new revival? I was blown away by this show an was wondering if a cast recording will be happening.
The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

I really hope so! These new orchestrations put the original album to shame. Especially “The Lees of Old Virginia,” “Momma Look Sharp,” and ESPECIALLY “The Egg!” I thought I was watching an entirely different show. The original piece bores me so much. But this one, I hardly checked my watch once during the matinee last Saturday. It would be a COMPLETE SHAME not to preserve this cast and the new modified orchestrations.

Sorry, there is nothing shameful about the Original Broadway Cast Recording of 1776.
