Just a reminder to those of you who haven't looked up from your Wicked playbills in a decade.
She looks a lot more like that poster now than you seem to think.

Posted: 7/9/14 at 10:53pmIt just looks like they took a headshot and cropped it. It doesn't all look like the same concept. It looks half-assed for sure.

Posted: 7/9/14 at 10:57pmThis artwork is so god-awful because that flat artwork has no relation to Lily Garland. It looks like it could be an ad The Boyfriend or Thoroughly Modern Millie. There is absolutely no glamour or nothing diva-ish about that caricature- and anyone who knows anything about the show should realize this. Did the director approve this ? Does he understand the show?

I think it looks more like Jane Lynch.
I just hope that it's a hit and we get a more complete cast album from it.

Be great for a 'madcap' toothpaste commercial-it's like, sshhh, I've got a little secret and I'll tell you on the train.
Hideous.

Posted: 7/10/14 at 3:21amI admire the angle they took, trying to capture the art deco style of the period and avoiding emulating the iconic original poster art, but it just doesn't work for me. It seems really slap-dab thrown together.

It does look like Cameron Diaz. They'e being very kind to her, that's not a recent photo.

Yes, her image can be Photoshopped out of all recognition, but I'd rather see something like this (or the other non-edited photos above).
It would add a certain element of pathos to Lily; rather than fearing she's gone stale in Hollywood, she knows that her looks are fading fast from a combination of natural age and anorexia/bulimia.

And of course, adding Gallagher's face at any age would be fine; he appears to be aging rather gracefully.
However, I do recall seeing him in a restaurant in 2001 just prior to Noises Off, and his hair was almost entirely (attractively) gray; but a few weeks later, when I saw the show, I noted that it had returned to its near-black hue - perhaps the joy of being on stage rejuvenated the color in the follicles?
