New Broadway Subscription Service

The article mentions "curated packages".  Sounds like they will pick/partner with shows to put a package together. If you want to see the shows in the package, you buy it. I figure they will offer certain dates and maybe different price levels. I would also expect you would buy these in advance so certain seats would be set aside. I could be wrong but it seems they are trying to do what touring houses do.

It seems, to me, that it may be a little tricky with Broadway, (Take, for instance, if a show in a subscription closes before a subscriber's date to see it. But my immediate thought is that they would offer a replacement show or possibly a partial refund.) but they have come up with the idea so they must know how they plan to do it. JMO and random thoughts.

New Broadway Subscription Service

This is definitely a little confusing. It doesn't sound so much like a subscription, it seems more like a ticket concierge service that just handles buying tickets for you according to your parameters in a bundle. Their site is... very thin on details.

"Beavers, whose family had a subscription to see shows touring in Florida when she was growing up, was amazed to learn that Broadway did not have a similar program in 2020. “Why do they have it, and we can’t?” she asked"

This quote does not fill me with confidence.

"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."

The idea is interesting but I think the execution here is flawed.

I also don’t think Broadway as a whole could work on a subscription model. If anything, it would need to be the individual theatre owners that have their own packages (Shubert, Nederlander, ATG, etc) since doing the à la carte approach for all theatres feels like a good way to get screwed over by communication issues
