I wonder if they would ever develop some of these ideas into broadway shows. It seems to me that other than Hercules, Pochantas and Mulan (And holding out for hunchback) they are becoming limited in shows that could be adapted. I dont see typically the older shows adapting as well. But I find that a musical about Ursula or Hook or a sleeping beauty (Maleficent) Or cruella could make for a fascinating show. I just wondering if they think they would ever do something like that. Of course I always hope for the stage adaptations to have their original composers attached.

Princess Bride, too.
Is Bedknobs still in development? I know Chicago Shakespeare Theatre was going to do it, but after Rachel Rockwell (the director)'s death, it was cancelled and SIX took its place.
Technically, Devil Wears Prada and Mrs. Doubtfire are also also upcoming Disney musicals, since Fox Stage Productions (now owned by Disney) partnered with producer Kevin McCollum for them. Bob Cohen (former head of Fox Stage Productions) was among the people who got the axe in the Disney merger, so perhaps Tom Schumacher is also overseeing those projects on behalf of the parent company?

I believe Disney is hard at work on musicalizing Swiss Family Robinson, The MoonSpinners, The Black Hole and The Black Cauldron. (Now where is that winking emoji?)

I wonder if Disney will create a "spinoff" company from Disney Theatrical Productions for properties like Princess Bride, Doubtfire, and things that aren't inspired by Disney movies. (Sort of like how Marvel is a Disney company, but isn't billed as such.) They tried this in the early 2000s and then abandoned it: "Hyperion Theatricals" was the producing entity for AIDA, and they had also been developing a basketball musical with Savion Glover and Kenny Leon.

There was a version of Pinocchio that ran in London a couple of years ago. At the time there was some discussion of a transfer. Haven't heard much about it since that time. https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.php?thread=1106441#5004240

That’s because it was terrible. It didn’t sell well and was not well received critically

What about Hunchback? From what I heard, the production in Germany received wide acclaim, but haven't heard anything about it since.

It received acclaim in La Jolla as well. My understanding is that the size of the show and chorus would be too expensive to cover. But I don’t know. I think it would be such a hit

Putting aside the flop that was On The Record, I really think that a Disney review, done right, could be a hit.

Too bad. Agree that it would probably be a hit. The concern over cast size and prohibitive production cost sounds a lot like why Cameron M wouldn't bring his London Oliver revival to Broadway a few years ago. Again, such a shame, given that, based on the preview video, it looked like an amazing production:

The German Hunchback was a totally different production 10 years ago, and it's dead now. James Lapine wrote the book and directed it. The US production (now being licensed, which played Paper Mill and La Jolla) has a book by Peter Parnell and was directed by Scott Schwartz, and it never had Broadway aspirations.
