re: New Elphaba?

It is and it isn't. In any show, when the leads are great, it makes the show better. We the leads are bad, it makes the show worse. I've seen Wicked 11 times and I've had very different experiences based on who I saw.

re: New Elphaba?

^I agree. While the script and music are obviously the same, the performances and show as a whole vary by cast. Having two different leading ladies/witches especially can make the show really different. Even if one lead is different, it can affect my experience of it.

re: New Elphaba?

^ Marcie is starting here on Nov 11th to Jan 11th. This thread is about who Elphaba will be after Marcie.

On a side note Julie is Elphaba tonight :).

re: New Elphaba?

It's been established that Marcie will take over until January, then I & the folks here believe that Nicole Parker from MADtv will take over.

re: New Elphaba?

^ I hope not. Why would they feel the need to do stunt casting now when they have someone who is so ready for lead already as standby. The show sells out all the time. Well I will be saving my money if it is Nicole.

re: New Elphaba?

A serious LOL to people predicting Kristen Bell, Tracie Thoms, or Anne Hathaway. Are you freaking kidding me? Kristen has a stead TV gig (most of the time) with Heroes and a burgeoning film career. Tracie has a TV gig too. Anna's a movie star. They're not going to be the 87th Elphaba replacement.

re: New Elphaba?

Nicole isn't stunt cast, she has been on Broadway before. MADtv isn't a household show that everyone knows. I think it is like when Joey & Rue were in the show, she they had bigger names but they never mentioned it outside their bios.
