New Int'l Trailer for MAMMA MIA! (yes, a 'new' one!)

Yup. The 'new' full US trailer for MAMMA MIA! was released last week, now here is the different Int'l trailer. Nope... no singing clips in this one BUT you get to hear Amanda's "Honey, Honey" and some more of "Gimme Gimme Gimme". More dialogue snippets, too!

This trailer is definitely skewed for a younger audience. Not much focus on the older cast members.

i love the trailer and i have to say it doesnt give every scene away like hairspray. the chemistry between meryl and amanda looks so loving.

Yeah, it is definitely the trailer that appeals to the young audience. The older cast is more interesting to me, so I prefer the new American trailer. My favorite is the very first UK trailer with Meryl singing the title song.
And yes, Meryl's "Oh my God!" is pretty funny.

Hmmm, none of the trailers I've seen seem to make it clear that this is a movie musical, not just a romantic comedy with lots of ABBA in the background.

She's seen singing for about 5 seconds. You have to wonder how much singing will actually be done in the movie instead of as just background music.

The last trailer definitely shows a lot of scenes where you can tell the actors are singing/dancing. There's a shot of Amanda Seyfred leaning against a rock where you can tell she is definitely singing, there's that shot of Seyfred with the two other girls each on a different window singing, there's a plethora of shots of Meryl in her Dynamo costume singing with the two other gals, and there's that one shot of Meryl on some kind of rock formation where you can tell she is singing some sort of ballad (I assume it's "The Winner Takes It All"), among others.
I have no doubt that there will be plenty of on-screen singing.

I can't wait for this movie! (particularly Colin Firth).
I do think there will be a lot of Meryl singing in the movie, they probably just didnt want to show all of the good parts in the previews. I am curious to see Pierce Brosnan sing...

The film is basically a carbon-copy replica (to some extent) of the stage version. The first test screening of the rough-cut of the film was held in San Diego, CA last Wednesday night and numerous reports appeared online. There is one in particular that literally breaks down the film almost scene-by-scene, so yes... though less than a handful of songs were not included (though the non-musicalized scene is still there), all the characters sing their respective songs, including Meryl.

What I meant was not that I'm afraid the movie won't be musical enough, just that audiences won't know that's what it is. (This happened when I saw Sweeney Todd and people started going, "OMG! Johnny Depp is singing, huh what??!")
