What are the New Musicals and revivals and plays planned for the fall?

It makes no difference. Most will meet the fate of the other shows trashed by critics this (& every )season.

I can no longer get excited for shows that will have no chance in hell of finding an audience.

Wow Mr Roxy - I don't think you have a negative enough attitude about this topic.

Anyway. I know Playbill usually has a master list of announced shows, but I can't find it at the moment.

Apparently, the word is that if After Midnight doesn't win the Tony for Best Musical, they will close in the fall to make way for Honeymoon in Vegas.

After Midnight doesn't need the Tony to run. It has the cache of being a hit, the rotating cast bit is working, word of mouth is great, it makes the tourists feel hip, and the entertainment value is sky-high. This show isn't going anywhere soon.

Wilmingtom, maybe you're right. But just remember that I said it and we'll see what happens…. New Musicals Plays Fall

To a poster above, I am just being realistic. Many good shows that deserved better have been trashed by the critics. No reason to think this will change next season or any other.

ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU

And I've heard that NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET is intent on bowing on Broadway, but have no clue as to a timeline or location for it to land.

Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

Roundabout should scoop up Natasha for post-Cabaret.

Ugh, I would love the chance to see The Great Comet again. Can't imagine it would be quite as fun in a Broadway venue though.

I actually think that Natasha would work better in a Broadway house, because the weird staging of it (along with Here Lies Love) feels like a weird and unnecessary gimmick that is uncomfortable and doesn't enhance the already strong material. But didn't the commercial off-Broadway run close because of poor ticket sales? I can't imagine that would provoke a Broadway transfer.

In The Heights bombed off-Broadway, but was a hit on Broadway. It's all about exposure, etc. Their ad campaign for Natasha was tough, and the actual outside of their "theater" didn't help. There was no real box-office, just a guy at a stand.

I want Comet to transfer to Broadway so much! I know it won't be the same in a Broadway house, but ever since the cast album came out I've been kicking myself for missing the opportunity to see it. Any chance it could go to the Circle in the Square? Updated On: 5/28/14 at 12:24 AM

It's a big cast. But I guess if it was intended to turn a profit in a small off-Broadway house, then there is no reason it couldn't work in the smallest Broadway house. They'd just have to transform the entire Circle in the Square, but it could work.
