Hello all. I found this on Playbill.com. I'm sooo thrilled it's making a stop in Dallas...only a couple of hundred miles away from Austin. RC in Austin, Texas
The Tony-nominated musical Xanadu is set to lace up its skates for a U.S. tour, which will officially launch in Costa Mesa, CA.
After charming Broadway critics in 2007, Xanadu made its West Coast premiere on Nov. 11, 2008 at the La Jolla Playhouse, later played a run at Chicago's Drury Lane Theatre in January of 2009 and an international engagement in Tokyo.
Xanadu will play in technical previews in Costa Mesa from Dec. 7-13, prior to officially beginning performances Dec. 14 through Dec. 27 at the OCPAC.
New tour dates follow:

Casting for the new tour has not been announced. Elizabeth Stanley and Max von Essen headlined the earlier road engagements, while Tony nominee Kerry Butler and Cheyenne Jackson originated the roles of Clio/Kira and Sonny on Broadway, respectively.
The musical about a hunk, a muse and a trippy chalk drawing, boasts a book by Little Dog Laughed playwright Douglas Carter Beane and utilizes songs from John Farrar and Jeff Lynne's film soundtrack from the infamous 1980 flop film. Xanadu is directed by Christopher Ashley with choreography by Dan Knechtges.
The musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of one of the nine muses of ancient Greece who comes to earth to inspire the greatest of artistic achievements – a roller disco. Along the way she falls in love, bumps into an old acquaintance and for the first time, feels the desire to create herself."
The original creative team also includes scenic designer David Gallo, costume designer David Zinn, lighting designer Howell Binkley, sound designers T. Richard Fitzgerald and Carl Casella, projections designer Zachary Borovay, wig and hair designer Charles G. LaPointe and musical director Eric Stern.
Xanadu received four 2008 Tony Award nominations, including one for Best Musical.
The Xanadu cast recording is available on the PS Classics label.

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
