DG I just thought of the same thing! Esp w the Connick connection too and all the high profile stuff from W&G ending it would be a great fit. Dunno tho if he'd want to replace again tho.. still a nice idea.

Eric McCormack will be in the off-broadway show Some Girls. I;ve love for the PJ game to transfer so I could see it but I'd looove for Kelli to be there as well!

If the show closes for a significent amount of time, it will be considered a new production and therefore the replacement TONY thing wouldn't work. (not that i understand that damn thing and all it's "rules" at all)

The significant amount of time you refer to is 3 years. This is closing for about 6, so that's not an issue. If I understand the rules correctly, whoever playing Sid and Babe would be eligible for the new Tony, assuming Harry and Kelli are nominated (which is a lock, I'd assume).

A replacement's eligibility isn't based on whether their predecessors were nominated - only that they were ELIGIBLE to be nominated in the leading categories.

excuse the typo. That should have said they'd need a bigger name to run the show WITHOUT Connick in it. My whole point was that he was the big draw, and if they're hoping to have a successful commercial run they'd better find a gal with a bigger name than any of the former Glindas.

Would not see it if you paid me. Sorry. I liked it with Harry and Kelli.(accidentally typed "Jelli"lol) I accept the fact that it doesn't NEED this cast, but I felt that the casting brought a real DYNAMIC, CHEMISTRY to a what would be just a 50s musical with a few good songs.
