Wonder of wonders...
Great!
Now when it rains we can all get drenched while waiting on line.
I remember being in the area around 3 weeks ago. Unless there was some magic trick being done it is far from being over. Besides, I am not sure if I believe this regardless of the paper it is printed in. Didn't some paper say that this was going to be done a year or so ago?
What is there not to believe? It's opening October 16 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The end.
Further, here is the announcement in tomorrow's New York Times.
Miracle of miracles...
I'm totally psyched about this. I think it's going to be awesome -- a whole new icon for New York!
But in all fairness, I think TKTS owes everybody a free ticket to a Broadway show for making us wait so long. I mean, how many months -- years? -- did they hold up that prime real estate smack dab in the center of Times Square?!
Peace.
p.s. -- BTW, did anyone notice that the new TKTS booth, all done up in futuristic weeds and cracks, actually made its first appearance in I AM LEGEND? . . . lol . . . That sh*t made me laugh out loud.
I don't think the delay was the fault of TKTS or the Theatre Development Fund. I think the new Duffy Square project was managed by the Times Square Alliance.
That's GREAT news!
FINALLY !!!! The Bird's nest stadium in Beijing, was built in less time !!!
I've enjoyed looking at the glowing staircase at night. For all of the delays, it is kind of lovely.

yeah, I thought there was an announcement last year saying it was opening like "next week" at the time. What happened exactly?
Glad they have set a date. I would like to see pictures too.
They just talked about it on NBC before they cut to the Today Show. Apparently there' rumor they may take plastic at the booth! :)
Credit cards have been taken at the London TKTS for a good many years, great for visitors!
