Alexia Khadime is the first African American to go on full-time as Elphaba, right? I think they look so much better in the green make-up.

Zurich, please don't call all people with African (or partially African) ancestry, "African-Americans", when they are actually from a different country. Alexia Khadime is Black British.

Tristram Kenton far surpasses Joan Marcus consistently with his photography. He has such an keen artistic eye. Broadway needs a photographer with his talents.

There's plenty more of Alexia singing there.

She sounds pretty crappy though- I don't know if it's her type of British accent, the tape quality, or just her ability, but something doesn't sound right when she sings it.

i don't think we'll know what alexia can really do until she calms her nerves and settles in.

hopefully in a few weeks, youtube will have more clips of her doing it her way...and not stressing over being slated because she isn't kerry ellis.

speaking of which, i'm intrigued as to what the broadway audience will make of kerry.

she has a totally different take on the character and her voice really isn't like any other actress portraying elphaba.

I rather like her voice, very different and I have a thing for raspy voices.

I like that she growls a little. I think she has potential to be incredible.

She's a nice change from the bright-voiced, too-girly sounding Elphabas that's become the trend here and there. Not including Stephanie and Kerry of course.

So, now that a Black lady has done Elphaba full-time, do you think that we will ever see an Asian do it full-time outside of Asia (obviously Hamada Megumi and Higuchi Asami don't count, they are doing productions in Asia). We have already seen many many Caucasians and a Latina. Anything else left? Native American? Aboriginal as the next Elphaba in Australia? Arab?
