New musicals, which will be the biggest hit?

Motown, kinky boots, matilda, pippin??? Out of these which will be the biggest hit? Does anyone know which has the biggest advanced sales?

It's really hard to tell this soon...so much comes with time and staying power.

I think Boots holds the biggest risk, and will be the first of your list to close. Pippin will be next, but should have a healthy run (Reidel claims it already is close to a 5Mil advance) and more than recoup.

Both Motown and Matilda are destined to be finacial runaways. Doesn't mean they are actually great, just popular. (I'm not giving a critique, just putting that out there.)

Are you forgetting that Pippin is produced by the Weisslers? They will run this show forever. It is brilliant, by the way.

I loved Pippin (in Cambridge, anyway), but with the exception of Chicago, very few revivals have lots of staying power. A year or two at best.

I have only seen Kinky Boots and LOVED it! Hope it becomes a huge hit.

I think MATILDA has the most potential out of those. Especially with schools getting off for summer break early as late next month, I can see lots of tourist $$$ coming in, with it being a family-friendly show and all. Not to mention it is also a hit movie that most people could recognize.
