I saw the light in the piazza at curve Leicester in the uk a couple of years ago, no way is that a better musical than matilda, gosh I'm stunned someone has said that!!!!

I think some people on this board just don't want matilda to succeed because it's a British production....it's like some people in their posts are almost willing it, wanting it to fail I can't wait for opening night, let the show speak for itself!

Agreed, it's not groundbreaking as such but it's just a very classy and entertaining show, its sharp and clever, atmospheric, ...the story has substance, excellent characters and some good songs... But lets be clear, just because there is no real competition, this would be a worthy addition to the tony best musical list

I think matilda will sweep the board... It's not groundbreaking but as a piece of entertainment and a production as a whole it's flawless, it is the rsc after all

One thing that is telling is if you look at the amount of views on here for messages associated with matilda, you kinda know that matilda is the one out of all if them that is attracting the most interest and buzz, hence the amount of views it had compared to other shows... The easiest way to convey to you guys how good matilda is... Well it's the adele of musical theatre, pure quality!??

Well I hope it's a good show and gets to transfer to London...as I live the film it's based on... Oh and there's a brilliant drag artist, female impersonator.. Whatever you want to call her by the name of ceri Dupree that would be brilliant for the part!!!

Find this really weird.....being a British lad I'm just wondering why they have cindi lauper doing the music for a story set in northern England, ok I've not heard the music but it sounds like mixing water with oil... Maybe ill stand corrected but just find it hard to imagine it working!!!??

I just wanted to let you guys know how brilliant matilda is... I saw it in London in September and what a great piece of entertainment, anyone that loves wicked will love it... But it's far more superior in substance, characters and execution than wicked or any other show around at the moment....I really hope it's a hit on broadway because it deserves to be...ill be interested to see the reviews
