Bummed that this isn't moving forward, but maybe not that bummed if it was similar to Moana 2 in quality.

What in the mouse studio's animated pipeline is exciting at the moment?

I admit Moana 2 still have some flaws. But I still enjoyed it. Not as much as the first movie

The Lopezes are onboard for FROZEN 3. Other than that, they haven't announced their next animated projects. 2026's film is still unannounced, so hard to say.

Disney Animation was on a roll for awhile. I would imagine execs will push for more of what worked in the past - you can expect MOANA 3, ENCANTO 2, etc. with the occasional original film thrown in.

Menken told the crowd at his London concert last week that he's working on both a stage adaptation and live action remake of TANGLED.

They have announced projects past Frozen 3. They are also working on Zootopia 2 and Toy Story 5. Pixar has an upcoming original sci-fi story called Elio, and another one about some beaver robot called Hoppers. Pixar has Incredibles 3 in the works too.

Almost all of Disney's pipeline (both live action and animated) are sequels or remakes. I think the two Pixar titles mentioned above are the ONLY original stories that have been announced through 2028. eek.

^ Well as long as they don’t majorly mess up like they’ve been doing on and off, I can manage. I rather see balance of new stories and legacy characters.

I’m fairly certain Disney was teaming up with The Henson Company at one point to make The Power of The Dark Crystal. I’m a dark crystal fanatic and I still want that film, it’s to the point where my main goal in life is to make it into film or theater and make that damn movie myself before the original stars pass. Damn you Disney for not wanting to do **** with Jim Henson properties.

Power of the Dark Crystal was shelved years ago. The Henson company pivoted over to Age of Resistance and eventually allowed the story of Power to be adapted into limited run comic series in 2017

100% well aware of that, I skipped school to watch age of resistance the moment it came out in 2019 and I own every single cover variant of The Power of The Dark Crystal, albeit it wasn’t cheap. I’ve always craved for more dark crystal on screen, it was the first movie I ever watched all the way through, according to my parents. It’s an interesting topic in terms of how many directors, scripts, and all around troubles the film had before the film was eventually shelved.

I do want to see it happen on screen eventually, with that new labyrinth movie happening (which they should cast Adam lambert as the goblin king, who in my mind is the only one who could replace David Bowie, though no one should replace David Bowie. It’s David ****ing Bowie.) I could see it happen before the decade ends, and I wanna be the one who does it. It’s quite literally my life’s goal and if I could just get *Somebody* to hear me out, I feel like I could get the damn thing made.
