Just found out that Alice AND Bobby will both be touring with the show, but only for the first three months, after which they'll return to the Broadway company.

^ Awesome news! Where'd you hear that from? Does this mean Jessica and Michael are getting a 3 month "promotion?" Good for them. Can't wait for this tour to get started. :)
When does the tour officially start? Will they be in Cleveland in July?
Yes, what I was told was that Jessica and Michael would be filling in in the NY company for a few months.
I hope this is true so more people can see Alice and Bobby for themselves, but if it is I'm pretty bummed that the stops closest to me will be after the first three months.
My dream (partial) replacement cast is:
Sandra Oh- (Of Grey's Anatomy fame) Diana
Cailan Rose (HAIR)- Natalie
Jason Tam-(A Chorus Line, the Yellow Wood) Gabe

Bettyboy72, when Aaron was Gabe all seemed right in the world :) Although I've never seen Kyle Dean's take on the role so I can't really speak...
Another very unrealistic suggestion: Marcia Gay Harden. Even though she doesn't sing... Her energy and talent when I saw her in God of Carnage would have been perfect! If only she sang... Sorry for that very unrealistic realistic suggestion, but I felt an urge to just put it out there
Adam Greer, where on earth did you hear that Alice and Bobby are leaving broadway to tour?
Pat Benatar, no doubt about it. With a show this unconventional, the casting really should be as well. I don't want to see a traditional actress play this role and act it to death. Ever.
I floated the idea of Carolee a while back and forgot to put a question mark at the end of my post and I received 30 lashings from the board police. I would love to see her do the show while Alice tours...but it won't happen. What actor would leave a show that could be the next big hot ticket to be a replacement in a little show that's been running a year now, and who everyone predicts will close when the original cast's contracts are up? (I'm not in that group). I haven't seen her in AF, but I would prefer to play a role like Diana than a secondary character in a commercial confection. Hey, but she's working, not me.

AdamGreer, I too am very interested. Where did this information about Alice and Bobby come from? I'm intrigued... And what does that mean for the rest of the cast for the tour? What are they going to do for Natalie and Gabe and everyone?
Point about the show ending once the original cast's contract are done... Aaron's gone and they're still going strong. If you get the right actors I have faith that it can hold together.
I may have spoken prematurely about one of them. The other is definitely touring.
I totally believe that with the right casting it will keep going strong...like when Vanessa Williams took over for Chita in KOTSW.

on a less biting note -
i hope julia murney gets N2N. i sense she might be having some trouble finding great roles right now, and this one, most agree, would be perfect for her.
Um, what about Sarah Uriarte Berry? I had read about her briefly going on but haven't heard much else. Seems like she'd be a good fit.
Apparently she wasn't very good the first time she went on. I bet she will get better with more practice.

Seeing that the first few stops on the tour are longer engagements, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me that Alice and Bobby would join it for two-three cities.
i know he's doing Enron, but I think Norbert Leo Butz would be an incredible Dan. I believe he was in the first reading of the show.
Oooh Norbert and Julia! That'd be something!!
Sarah Uriate and Michael Berry would be.....interesting.
I just can't see BOTH Alice and Bobby going.
For some reasons I expect Alice to tour in the role, but I really don't expect both her and Bobby. I'm definitely going to echo Murney or Scott.

I think Norbert would be an incredible, but not exactly low-key Dan. I can see him and the actress playing Diana trying to out-crazy each other, in a good way. I'd love to see that.
And I think Judy Kuhn would make a great Diana.
