With carol Channings return in hello dolly or Glenn closes reprisal in sunset or even whooping planned return to sister act. What would be your picks for a star to return to their same role.

I would love to see Chita in the visit. I think she could still do it. More recently Groff in little shop. Heather headley in either Aida or color purple. I’d even go out on a limb and say patti lupone in evita

Carol Channing isn't planning g another revival of HELLI, DOLLY! Sadly, she died on January 15, 2019.

There's no way that Chitaxwill revive THE VISIT. It list money in its originalq production so why do it again?

I realize that Carol Channing is no longer with us, I was simply referencing how she had originally starred as dolly Levi and then in the 90s reprised her role.

I’m having trouble of thinking of stars/shows that would be able to find the same success the second time around. Maybe another Patina Miler led Pippin?

Cynthia Erivo could probably do the Color Purple again? She’d still be great and there is a plausible chance they could make money again.

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

Really the only mega hit of recent times, that would make sense for a commercial revival and one that you could plausibly have the same star/stars as it’s original production is The Producers. Both Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick could return. It would also work with Nathan Lane alongside a different Leo but not the other way around.

I can’t really think of examples beyond that?

I don’t think it would happen, but if Hugh Jackman were to say he wanted to do a six month run of The Boy From Oz in two years I’m tribute to the 30th anniversary of Peter Allen’s death I’m sure he could find a producer willing to finance it.

And if Hairspray were to come back I could imagine Harvey reprising Edna for at least a portion of the run.
