It's been a little bit since Next To Normal has been on Broadway. It also didn't get its rightful awards at the Tonys. But I would love to see a revival with Heather Headley as Diana and Jesse L. Martin as Dan. Any ideas on who the kids could be?

Omg, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU ON A REVIVAL! This show is truly amazing!
I would love to see Rachel Bay Jones as Diana, Aaron Tveit as Gabe (I know he was in the OBC, but who wouldn't want to see him as Gabe again?), Michael Park as Dan, Laura Dreyfuss as Natalie, Christan Borle as Dr. Fine / Dr. Madden, and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Henry.
Listen, I know this is basically a Dear Evan Hansen and Tuck Everlasting reunion, but these are the people who I think should be in the revival of Next to Normal if there is one.
UPDATE: Now that I've thought about it, I think Rachel Bay Jones should be Diana, Andrew Keenan-Bolger as Gabe, Michael Park as Dan, Ben Platt as Henry, Laura Dreyfuss as Natalie, Christian Borle as Dr. Fine, and Brandon Uranowitz as Dr. Madden.

Aaron Tveit is too old for the role at this point, Gabe is supposed to be 18. But it will be hard to find someone to match his fire...
While those ideas are great, I really think that if they did a revival, they should cast POC in the roles. Mainly because the roles don't NEED to be white. I think Heather Headley would get a Tony
Imagine Laura Dreyfuss and Ben Platt as Natalie and Henry...
Stephanie J Block and Sebastian Arcelus as Diana and Dan.
Audra and Will
Idina and Taye (whoops)
In all seriousness, I think Idina would be great, but so would Carmen Cusack, and pretty much everyone mentioned above, especially Rachel.
I LOVE the idea of Michael Park as Dan. Frankly I'm kind of surprised he hasn't already played the role somewhere or other.
Why don't they make Dan a Lesbian and have a revival with Bernadette Peters and Patti LuPone in the lead roles?

Dude. They are nearly 70. Show ain't about grandmothers.
Anyway... Karen Olivo. 'nuff said.

While I really liked Aaron Tveit in the role, I enjoyed Kyle Dean Massey's performance quite a bit more, for what it's worth. I don't think it'll be a particularly difficult role to cast.
Julia Murney and Lisa Brescia as Diana...
I remember reading that Lisa Brescia was offered the standby slot on broadway but declined to join Mama Mia.
I think it'd be fun if we could cast Rachel Bay Jones as Diana.
and the guy who plays Emilio Estefan in On Your Feet to play the husband, using the same terrible accent. lol , wouldn't that be fun to see?
as good as it'd be to have stephanie and sebastian do this i realllllly want rachel bay jones for diana. she'd be amazing
I think I'd rather a film version:
Diana- Idina Menzel
Dan- Hugh Jackman
Natalie- a newcomer! (or Anna Kendrick-- I don't care I love her)
Gabe- Harry Styles or Darren Criss or Zac Efron (any of them dubbed as necessary lol)
Henry- Daniel Radcliffe or Ben Platt
Dr. Fine- a cameo by a older rock and roll front man
Dr. Madden- Jon Bon Jovi

I agree with RBJ for Diana - have heard her sing bits and pieces of N2N songs and she brings that same pain and rawness as Alice.
Norbert Leo Butz for Dan.
I'd love to see revival in a few years, BUT honestly I'd love like a 10th anniversary concert production with the original OBC in 2019. That would be a dream.

"This, yes 100%. Would pay anything.
In a dream world, Stephanie and Sebastian would be amazing as Diana and Dan, respectively, as others have already said. Otherwise I'd say Taye Diggs as Dan and RBJ as Diana.
Additionally:
Eva Noblezada as Natalie would be amazing. Though Kim and Natalie obviously aren't similar characters at all, I feel like they have a similar energy and she'd do really well in the part.
Alex Sharp as Henry. Honestly can't tell you where this thought came from, but...I like the idea of it. It's a hell of a step down from Christopher Boone, but still. If he was younger, I'd have said John Gallagher, Jr.
Chris McCarrell as Gabe. I honestly can't think of anyone else for the role that could play him now. There's a YT video of him singing "I'm Alive" while in college and I think it's wonderful, plus I'd say he's improved a lot over the last four years.

Honestly, same.
If there were a film, I'd want Toni Collette as Diana.

Saw Deedee Magno Hall as Diana in East West's Next to Normal and not only was she the best Diana I have seen but she gave one of the best performances I have ever seen, period.
For a film version, I'd like to see Naomi Watts as Diana.

SJB as Diana would be amazing! I would love to see Mike Wartella as either Henry or Gabe
