Rave reviews in London. Any talk of it coming to Broadway?
I don't see this doing that well on Broadway.
I don't see this coming back over after being at St. Ann's last season.
FARINELLI AND THE KING, however, is supposed to come in this November.
I caught it up here in Boston...right before the St Ann run (methinks). It was quirky, Rylance was quirky....but it's not right for bway. It would tank.
It got some excellent reviews and some less so. I saw it and enjoyed it a lot (I attended the first performance after the Oscars, and the statue made an appearance at the curtain call.) but I agree it is not for Broadway in the least.
I agree with dramamama. Saw it in Boston, and as much as we love Rylance, this just was too out there and disjointed. We applaud him for taking this on as a work of love but it doesn't hold together as a show
