Nice Work lands Broadway Theatre?

Im hearing Nice Work If You Can Get It is going to open at The Broadway Theatre Spring 2012... Sister Act coming off 2nd week in Jan...

Unless you have more to go on it's a bit irresponsible to spread a rumor like this don't you think? I could say that Santa Claus will be the next President but that doesn't make the statement factual.

If this is true, it seems like a terrible idea. I don't see that show filling a reasonably-sized theatre, so I certainly don't see it filling the Broadway.

I would think Whoopi would go into the show before it closes.

really don't want to see Sister Act close. It's such a fun, great show. It clearly has some flaws, but it's better than Mamma Mia, Rock of Ages & Spiderman.

and I'll second that Whoopi would go into the show for 6-8 weeks before closing it just to make some $$$.

I could see her doing it as she could still tape the View during the day. Plus it would get the show some much needed attention.

that's what she did when she joined Xanadu for 6 weeks. She didn't perform the Wed. matinees(Annie Golden filled in) though, which I would think would be the same if she did Sister Act.

and if Nice Work... goes into the Broadway, it'll close right after the Tonys. Way too big of a theater.

Whoopi did Xanadu while The View was on summer break. She played all 8 shows a week.

She is always complaining about doing 8 shows a week and why would anyone sign up for that, etc. So maybe she's over it.

Now that Funny Girl is not opening, maybe they could get the Imperial instead?
