Nick Adams Is Joining Cast of "Guys and Dolls" Revival!

Hello all. (First, let me say this... Jaystarr...we just can't quit you...come back!) Now... here is this little morsel of news from Nick Adams' website...from RC in Austin, Texas

I'm thrilled to announce that I will be playing Liver Lips Louis in the original cast of the new Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls. We will begin rehearsals December 15th and open at the Nederlander theatre March 1st. I am excited and thankful for this opportunity and I look forward to working on another beautiful revival with such an incredible creative team. "Guys and Dolls" will be directed by Des McAnuff and feature choreography by Sergio Trujillo. McAnuff, artistic director of Canada's Stratford Shakespeare Festival, worked with Trujillo on the current Broadway success, "Jersey Boys." "Guys and Dolls," which has a score by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, originally opened on Broadway in 1950.

Nick Adams In Guys and Dolls
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Congratulations, Nick--and to everyone involved in the revival. It's such a great show, and I'm really looking forward to it.

So how will Nick Adams manage to display his physical assets in a production of GUYS AND DOLLS?

Oh. My. God. Oh my god you guys!
Okay, just kidding. But still - my jaw just dropped, due to the inherent hotness. I saw this guy in A Chorus Line and am not the least bit ashamed to say I couldn't keep my eyes off him. I consider him and Cheyenne the hotties of Bway (or, as Robin DeJesus says, "I get, like homo thuggish thoughts of him"). I'm not exactly sure how big this role is (I've only seen a local production of it and it was a while ago) but hopefully it will involve more acting than before. Larry doesn't really do much in ACL singing or acting-wise. Either way, I look forward to seeing this production. I've been watching Gilmore Girls season 1 in anticipation. Ah, so wordy. So good.

Good for Nick!

And no offense mormonophobic, but aside from being hot and Gay, Nick Adams and Cheyenne are not even in the same league. When I see posts about "Broadway Star" Nick Adams, I have to laugh because Nick is really just a chorus kid with great biceps and a hot body.

> it's not his fault that this creeper old guy

according to the original poster's profile, he's 46 ... if that truly is what "old" has become then youth really is wasted on the young!

Oh...he did NOT GO THERE! B3 sure says a lot... but it all adds up to "not much". The only thing that is creepy is the the hostility in his heart (if he actually has one). Who knows what compels someone to be so hateful and and INcredibly immature? Age?? There are plenty of young bww posters who demonstrate remarkable maturity and intelligence... two things that B3 should be lucky to achieve when he gets to be my age... if he's lucky enough. I don't see why my being a proponent of Nick Adams should be a problem for B3, if it's not a problem with Nick himself. I have every intention of continuing to mention Nick on BWW from time to time. If B3 has a problem with it, then he can take a Dionne Warwick moment and "walk on by." Good luck to Nick and his fellow cast members of "Guys and Dolls.'

Oh no offense...received? Not sure how to word that, but I was simply referring to them on looks alone. Which, I'll admit, is kind of frakked up, but just in terms of that alone, I deem them in the same category. Obviously you can tell by my default that my heart is, and will always be, for Cheyenne because I believe him to be one of the most captivating leading men of today. But again, just on looks alone the comparison can be made (though I'll still say Jackson takes the cake here too).
You also have to realize, though, that Adams hasn't really been given the chance to show himself in a large role. Like I said about Larry in ACL (which is my only exposure thus far to him), the role isn't exactly that well-written or interesting. Unlike Jackson, who has been given leading man status in numerous productions.

The pictures of him as Rocky in the Lyric Theatre/Oklahoma City's production of RHPS are very distracting! As much as I admire his physique...I still can't wait to see him dance again!

Will this be the first production of "Guy and "Dolls" to feature shirtless gambling? I did the show three times and, as I recall, we were all fully clothed.
