Posted: 9/2/11 at 1:57pmIf true, it'd at least be better casting than his brother, Joe, who was also rumored.

Posted: 9/2/11 at 3:36pmI have a feeling that the Joe rumor was just a mixup, and they meant Nick the entire time. There would be no way Joe could do it. He's got a new CD coming out and he's going to be going on tour for it through next year.

Posted: 9/2/11 at 3:50pmugh. Why do they think he'll draw any kind of crowd? Darren and Daniel both have massive fanbases, but the last time Nick Jonas was relevant was in 2008.

I'm going to echo ClapYo'Hands on this one...

Posted: 9/2/11 at 4:04pmI'd say Nick Jonas has just as much of a fanbase as Darren Criss. Perhaps larger.

Posted: 9/2/11 at 4:11pmOh, he has a huge fanbase. Not that of Radcliffe, but few have that. And I think he'd actually be pretty decent in the role. It's much easier than, say, Marius.

Well, we'll never know, because you won't be able to hear him over the screaming.

An 18-year-old finch??? REALLY GUYS? REALLY?
If they're casting young now, I probably know high school kids and college freshmen who could play the role better than Mr. Jonas...
#14Nick Jonas to take over for Darren Criss in How to Succeed?
Posted: 9/2/11 at 6:19pmI think this would actually work. Nick was always the most, and maybe the only talented member of the group. And it's a perfectly reasonable selection by the producers. Although, if I were them I'd be interested in seeing how Criss did before continuing to run a show on the predicted draw of teens/tweens/nostalgic 20-somethings. I think Criss does actually have a bigger fanbase than Nick at this moment though. And I say this as a former JoBro fan.

I didn't realize Nick Jonas was only 18; I assumed he was older.
Barely legal is pushing it. But Finch does start out getting a job in the mailroom. I think it works better when he isn't middle-aged.

Posted: 9/2/11 at 7:43pmWell thank God then, for Nick Jonas being 18, because that thing didn't work at all with Bobby Morse.

Posted: 9/2/11 at 8:56pmThis better be a rumor. It's not that I don't like Nick, I just think he should stay away from Broadway. Thank God I'm seeing Daniel.

^Too late, he already has 2 Broadway credits.
Whether the actor was good or not wasn't the point. It's just a little unlikely to have a man getting his first grown-up job in his mid-30s in the 1960s setting. And unmarried? The average age for a man's first marriage at that time was 22. Finch should have been a freak of nature in the business world at age 36, not looked upon as an eager young man.

I think he'd be a pretty good choice. He sings, he dances, he obviously has stage presence. Never seen him act but I have a feeling he'd excell in this role.
And I'm in no way a JoBro fan.
My only issue would be, as besty pointed out, the screaming fangirls.

Posted: 9/2/11 at 9:55pmThough I am no champion of his, to be sure, if he can reasonably handle the score of Les Miserables, he can handle the score of How to Succeed without screaming. I also don't judge anything based on the Hollywood Bowl...

The job in the mail room is not his first job. Just the first job at The World Wide Wicket Company. My problem with Radcliffe, and anyone who is that young and has a mediocre director, is that they have nothing to bring to the character of the role. The role, as written, is undefined as to character. As hard as Radcliffe tries in the role (and succeeds more than fails), he completely fails during his big number. For two reasons. One, his director failed to give him what he needed to act the scene, and two, his age prevents him from naturally having the cool, clear eyes of a seeker of wisdom and truth.

Posted: 9/3/11 at 12:01ami heard this rumor about a month ago. I assume that by now, it's true. why else would they put such an investment in filling three weeks with Criss? And the Jonas brothers are done for the time being, with Joe going solo.

He's got a few more than that. He had quite a few roles on Broadway as a kid. This site has info on them:
http://nicholasjonasbroadway.jimdo.com/nicholas-s-musicals/
There's lots of Youtube videos as well of him on Broadway as a kid. Which I know it was a long time ago, but he does have quite a bit of experience in the past.
If this rumor is true, I wonder how long he'd step into the role for. It seems silly to me for the producers to go into a cycle of recasting the role every 3-6 weeks, and I'd think people would take Nick stepping into the role a bit more seriously if he committed to a longer run, like Daniel Radcliffe did.
