Cute, but what’s the deal with the black and white Waitress playbills? Is this a choice by Waitress when the Jenna isn’t a “named” star? If so, seems weird, but I’ve noticed that Jessie Mueller, Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz and Kat McPhee all had coloured playbills, while the understudy playbill, Betsy Wolfe’s and Nicolette Robinson’s are all black and white.
I also personally think Stephanie Torns deserves her own face on a playbill right now. The blank ones they use for her during her scheduled 2 week runs etc seem kinda insulting, idk! lol

I would also like her face to be on the Playbill, but for a two week run, it kind of makes sense that they wouldn't do it.
Color covers on Playbills incur costs to the production while b&w covers are free. I imagine this is a cost-saving measure for the production when non-stars are in as leads and therefore box office is down. I do agree that I would have liked a color cover for Nicolette, but I understand why it didn’t happen.

Ahhh thanks for explaining, I hadn’t realised that!
Wowwowowow. Nicolette was AMAZING. She received a standing ovation after She Used to Be Mine. She blew me away. Her acting is incredible and her voice even moreso. Her southern accent is great and her chemistry with Natasha Yvette Williams as Becky was one of my favorite things of the night.
i've got 99 problems and a revival of parade would solve like 94 of them
Nicolette was terrific! A little nervous to start but settled in nicely and has a fantastic voice. Really brought her own to the role and is worth seeing.
Also fun, there were a lot of Broadway people in the audience supporting her, so there was some good celeb spotting. A hugely enthusiastic audience (well earned given her performance), and from the front orchestra you could even hear the cast cheering her on before the show.
A few fun mishaps too - Katie missed the bouquet the first time Adam threw it, but it seemed like they’d experienced that before so he joked let’s try that again and re-sung and re-threw it. During Pomatter Pie the drawer flew out of the gynecologist’s table when Brandon yanks it open looking for something to eat the pie with. Some smaller things too, but all were totally fine and didn’t take anything away from the show; in fact the audience ate it up!
Nicolette’s standing O for SUTBM was well deserved. She really was wonderful to see as Jenna.
Folks, while in general we allow discussion of theatrical bootlegs, because it's foolish to pretend like they don't exist, we do not allow users to actively request, share, or direct others to them. The posts doing so have been deleted, and further posts of that nature will result in that, or further, action.
These recordings are still illegal, and we simply cannot allow people to distribute them via the boards. Thank you for understanding.

Yeah I guess so!"
Jessie Mueller had a full color Playbill from opening in March through June..but it was black and white for the rest of her one year run. Betsy's Playbill was black and white until Jason came and then there was a color cover of the both of them. However, its Betsy's face on all the tour Playbills and posters and I believe they are all in color.
In terms of Stephanie Torns, they change the Playbill covers when she is on. It's not like they use the cover of a previous actress with an understudy slip. They change it. In terms of cost, I can't imagine it would cost more to have her photo on the cover instead of the diner picture they use. They change it one way or the other. They wouldn't even have to take a new photo...there are photos out there. Black and white of course.
It's a slow time in the theater in general after Labor Day so I understand using the cheaper black and white cover for Nicolette. However, you can get a color poster of her which is sold at merch. I believe it's just $20. Color or Black and White however..she is worth the trip. She is excellent.

Interesting. Although I have little interest in bootlegs, I am confused. A few weeks ago, Broadwayworld promoted in their headline section a video of the curtain call of Bette Midler's last Hello Dolly performance. Wouldn't this and similar videos fall into the same category as a bootleg?
